If Obama is the antichrist (and I think we will know for sure in short order here) then this brings up the obvious question: Is the U.S. the Revived Roman Empire or at least a part of it?

A friend responds: The problem I have always had with this sort of stuff is the propensity of Americans to believe that all events American are at the center of prophesy and world events.  The Christians in the rest of the world must be somewhat appalled at the audacity of American Christians.  Can you even imagine the persecuted Christians in the house churches in China reading all the “the world revolves around America” type of timeline designations.

I agree with you……except for a couple things:

1) The U.S. is undisputedly the world’s super power, right in league with Rome.  So we might well be the revived Roman Empire.  America was settled primarily by Europeans.  Europeans are the legacy of the old Roman empire.  The world used to revolve around Rome but now it undisputedly revolves around the U.S.  The U.S. economy gets a cold and the rest of the world gets pneumonia.

2) A lot of Jews live in the U.S…….in fact I think the stats are more Jews live in the U.S. than in any other place in the world, including Israel.

3) On top of all that, don’t forget that many Jews converted to Catholicism to save their lives and property.  Many even changed their names to lose the trail of their Jewish ancestry.  Just because they change their name and now profess faith in Jesus Christ, does that erase in any way, from God’s perspective, that they are still descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob???  Your ancestry can NOT be erased.  Even though we do not keep track of it, God does!  So there there are most likely a lot more descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob in the U.S. and Europe than anyone even imagines.  For all you and I know, WE might have Jewish blood running through our veins!

Yes, I will go back ……actually I am back there now.

I think he makes a very valid point that when Jesus came the first time, VERY FEW recognized Him as the Messiah, due to erroneous preconceived interpretations of the scriptures.

Are we possibly doing the same thing again with our text book Hal Lindsey interpretation of scriptures.

I do know this that at last Sunday Night’s service, Chuck Smith spent the hour on prophecy AND ended leading the congregation in a prayer “to be found worthy to escape all these things coming.”  He senses that the end is near.

In this link, I particularly like the comment about the Jubilee.  Israel was reborn ON a Jubilee and it stands to reason that when Christ returns for His 2nd Coming it will be on a Jubilee, fall 2015……I think His first coming was on a Jubilee too.  I’ll have to check that out.

But that excites me!  There won’t be another Jubilee for 50 more years!   I agree with him that there is no way this world can continue its downhill spiral and not have blown each other up with nukes LONG before 50 years is up.

And from a personal standpoint, you know that for months I have shied away from reading anything on the internet because it would cause me to go into a deep unshakable depression for DAYS afterward.  So I had to stop.  Then just a week or two ago, I realized WHY I always went into a deep depression: because my gut was screaming at me WE are in the 7 year Tribulation Period and Obama IS the antichrist…….and according to Hal Lindsey & Co, we weren’t suppose to be here to see the antichrist!  So why am I seeing him???  I tell you, my depression has GONE…….replaced with renewed faith in God, that He didn’t lie to us, but that well meaning bible teachers guessed wrong about these key endtime events…….and thus the rapture may still be imminent!  As you know I had given up on the rapture too.  This is why!  My gut was screaming at me that we are in the Tribulation period and Obama IS the antichrist.  It didn’t line up with my preconceived teachings about how end time prophecy will play out……..but well meaning bible teachers of Jesus day screwed up too!!!!

Remember Nicodemus?  He was all screwed up and confused and snuk out to see Jesus at night alone.  Why?…..his gut was screaming at him that Jesus WAS the Messiah, but his head and his heady bible teacher friends/scholars said that it was impossible for Jesus to be the Messiah!

Fast forward 2000 years……are we guilty of the same thing as Nicodemus?…..a man who studied the law as a full time career!

So what happened to the Jews at Jesus first coming,…..why should we be surprised that the same thing doesn’t happen again!  What happened to them should make us ALL be humble enough to allow last minute corrections in our doctrine.

I’m waiting for Obama to divide Israel…..I’m just waiting for that…….already Netanyahu is starting to “talk” division and gave a public speech outlining what Israel’s requirements for a divided Israel!!!…..where as a couple months ago, he professed that he would never allow Israel or Jerusalem to be divided.

Who ever divides Israel IS the antichrist!

One more point I forgot to make:  Israel is still God’s time clock.  What we are discussing here is the antichrist and his lineage.

Hal Lindsey & Co. have “guessed” (educated) that the 10 toes of Daniels statue are the revived Roman Empire.

Hal Lindsey & Co. have “guessed” that the Revived Roman Empire is strictly Europe……not Turkey where Constantine MOVED THE ROMAN HEADQUARTERS and that leg lasted another 500 years, longer than the western leg.  Chuck Missler pointed this out, and I think he has a valid point.  What is Missler’s point?  That Hal Lindsey is drawing some narrow conclusions in his guess work here.  So what else is open to interpretation?

The U.S. came OUT of the 10 nations of Europe……no question about that……are we the Little Horn Nation??  Food for thought.  Consider what I said below as well as the undisputed fact that militarily, economically and political and diplomatic influence standpoint, America is the World’s Last Super Power…….mirroring or echoing that old Roman Empire.  Europe turns to us every time they get into trouble.  We are designated the World’s Policeman, a title many chafe under.  We are declining from within due to moral rot, just like the Roman Empire did.  Isn’t it possible that America is the Revived Roman Empire…..or at least should be considered a part of the Revived Roman Empire??????…….and if only a part, is undisputedly the HEAD of the Revived Roman Empire?  Food for thought.

As such, as the Real Revived Roman Empire (or Head thereof) the U.S. gives birth to (figuratively speaking) the next Leader of this Revived Roman Empire……the antichrist.

So yes, I think it is very possible that our dubious gift to the whole world could very well be THE ANTICHRIST!

I also think that the U.S. is the “Babylon the Great” that gets destroyed in a single hour.  This is why so many pointed to this scripture in Rev when the the World Trade Center Towers were destroyed.  In a single hour the great invincible New York City became a frightened shivering shambles!  So much WORLD commerce flowed through NYC that they had to shut down banking and security markets for days!  Yes, the world’s merchants and ship captains watched in horrified amazement as this happened, because NYC by itself affects World Commerce!  I think 9/11 was a warning…..that the impossible is most definitely possible…….we are created beings with our created things, but have forgotten that we have a CREATOR that we have to answer to……..and He can pull the plug a thousand ways to end everything whenever He decides to.  We are vulnerable!

Anyway, history will judge this ultimately.  But I think so much of the Bible is left to interpretation and educated GUESS work, we need to remain Humble, and open to further enlightenment that could cause massive changes in our understanding of prophecy.  It happened before when Christ came the first time, He arrival was missed by nearly ALL of the great Bible Scholars at the time……nearly ALL of them!  But God gave enlightenment to so called “no bodies”, and thus everything these “no bodies” had to say were rejected categorically by the leaders back then.  They would have been wiser to be more humble and be willing to take the steps to explore other valid interpretations and be willing to say “I stand corrected”.

We will know for sure WHO the antichrist is when he divides the land……..which Netanyahu has just stated publicly Israel is willing to do!…….being forced to do this by Obama.

Daniel 11:39: “Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, [and] advance [its] glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain.”

I think that the closer we get to “D-Day” the more enlightenment God is going to provide……more seals in Daniels prophecies get unsealed.  We are in the INFORMATION AGE for a Reason…..to fulfill God’s purposes!

I also think that God wants we Christians to leave a good trail for those left behind to be able to follow.  Some will awaken after the rapture and will be here to tangle with the antichrist.  They will need to know what the body of Christ uncovered before their sudden departure……like WHO is the antichrist!  Once we are gone the internet will likely be
shut down or vastly limited to control information.

If not US then Who?    If not NOW then When??

NOW is the time (the information age), and WE are the people with our collective biblical knowledge to examine and re-examine the scriptures in light of the latest developments in the world.

I recall before the internet and such websites like Five Doves, that Christians would huddle together and whisper their ideas and conclusions to maybe their best friends and thats it.  Perhaps new insight would arrive via a book or a newsletter or perhaps your pastor….(but very few pastors will even touch the subject of end times prophecy, so they weren’t much help).  So information travelled much more slowly.

Now look at it, its hard to keep up…..almost EVERY day some new insight is shared that may or may not be valid but can be held up to the light of our collective knowledge and examined for accuracy.  People post on the internet from all over the world, from all walks of life…..the only thing we have in common is our love of Christ and our thirst for the truth, the WHOLE truth so help us God!

Hosea 4:6 My people parish for the lack of knowledge.  Get knowledge…..get wisdom proverbs says!

Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

Thus if you do WATCH, you WILL KNOW what hour I will come upon you.

I Thes 5:4-6 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.  Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

God wants us to Watch and to KNOW as much as we can.
