First a congratulation for a well researched and presented comparison from the book of acts. Thank you also for the many articles about the identity of the Antichrist Mr. Obama.

It is my opinion that the tribulation as the seventieth week of Daniel is mainly for the Nation of Israel and the subjugation of a rebellious humanity to the ruler ship of the Lord Jesus.  As such the church should have no part of it.

²⁴ “Seventy ’sevens’ ^[c] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish ^[d] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.

I also believe that the seven seals, seven trumpets and the seven cups of the wrath of God will occur in order and sequence. The first four seals kill one fourth of humanity and I do not see the Lord permitting such a large slaughter of believers during this time.

It is important that all the prophetic scriptures both in the Old and New Testament be considered in espousing an eschatological chronology of events.  Only the true sequence of events will fit perfectly with the prophecies. As you well know our Lord saw all the future, to the most minute details, but He chose what to write for us to discover and understand.

His control of everything that happens is absolute and His Word is perfect. That is why Genesis first sentence has so much information in seven words. It is with a humble spirit that I approach His Word and awe at His Majesty.

Remember that there will be 144,000 Jews, 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes and the two witnesses that are empowered to witness the World for our Lord.  Our job is at the present and we must be diligent in our present witness.  Run with what we have and spread the Word to all you know.  But remember is the Holy Spirit who is in the job of bringing the lost to Jesus and we are only the tools He uses.

Keep the studies and the discoveries; they will be manna for those who are hungry and thirsty.

Federal Judge Carter sets Trial Date for Obama’s Eligibility!

 

The expedited trial has been set for Jan. 26, 2010!

Many concerned veterans and citizens attended the hearing in Federal Court in Santa Ana in the lawsuit against Barack Obama to determine his eligibility to be President and Commander in Chief.  About 150 people showed up, almost all in support of the lawsuit to demand that Obama release his birth certificate and other records that he has hidden from the American people.

Judge David Carter refused to hear Obama’s request for dismissal. He indicated there was almost no chance that this case would be dismissed. Obama is arguing this lawsuit was filed in the wrong court if you can believe that.  Obama would prefer a “kangaroo court” instead of a Federal court! Assuming Judge Carter denies Obama’s motion for dismissal, he will likely then order expedited discovery which will force Obama to release his birth certificate in a timely manner (if he has one).

The judge, WHO IS A FORMER U.S. MARINE, repeated several times that this is A VERY SERIOUS CASE which must be resolved quickly so that the troops know that their Commander in Chief is eligible to hold that position and issue lawful orders to our military in this time of war. He basically said OBAMA MUST PROVE HIS ELIGIBILITY to the court! He said Americans deserve to know the truth about their President!

The two U.S Attorneys representing Barack Obama tried everything they could to sway the judge that this case was frivolous, but Carter would have none of it and cut them off several times  Obama’s attorneys left the courtroom after about the 90 minute hearing looking defeated and nervous.

Great day in America for the U.S. Constitution!  The truth about Barack Obama’s eligibility will be known fairly soon – Judge Carter practically guaranteed it!

Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the NAME of blasphemy.

Six times, the Hebrew word BARAK (Strong’s 1288) is interpreted, not as its usual intent ‘blessing’, but as either ‘curse’ or ‘blaspheme’.  Occurring six times, the standard Hebrew value of BARAK (Strong’s 1288) which is 6 x 222 = 1332 OR 666+666.  This is yet another value of 666 attributable to Mr. Hussein Obama AND the name of blasphemy.

Who is the King of Babylon? Did Jesus give his name? (see below)

 

Isaiah 14:04 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! The golden city ceased!

Isaiah 14: 12 -15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Luke 10:18 – And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

King of Babylon – Who is the current ruler of Babylon?  Who on earth controls the fate of Babylon at this present time?

When Jesus said the words as recorded in Luke 10:18, it was clearly in reference to the passage of Old Testament Scripture in the 14^th Chapter of Isaiah.  For quite some time, there has been an email floating around as well as a video that makes the claim that ‘heaven’ as spoken by Jesus is referring to ‘the heights’ and ‘lightning’ as spoken by Jesus is the Hebrew word BARAQ.  This is definitely a plausible definition for BOTH, which leads to the Hebrew word for ‘the heights’ which is ‘BAMAH’ (Strong’s H1116 and H1117) and ‘BARAQ’ (H1300).

I was calculating the Greek gematria value of ‘Lightning [of] Heaven (the Heights) from Luke 10:18 as if it were a name, and found the gematria value to be 1651.  That number sounded familiar and as I looked through my database, to my surprise, it is the Greek standard value of ANTICHRIST! (1651). ‘Lightning [of] the Heights’ spoken in Hebrew would be baraq [of] bamah במהמברק!

Αντιχριστοι =1651=Antichrist

Αστραπη ο Oυρανος = 1651= Lightning of Heaven (the heights -Greek) being interpreted as (Hebrew) baraq [of] bamah במהמברק (Lightning [of] the Heights).

The latter part of the proverb against the king (ruler) of Babylon, beginning in verse 12 calls the king of Babylon LUCIFER!  His ultimate fate is the pit.  This passage clearly is in reference to the antichrist, as the ruler is a man/possessed.  The Babylonians built the temple to the heights which brought about the division of language, which is the barrier that also hinders dialogue among nations, not to mention Biblical interpretations.

Now I ask you, who is the present ruler of Babylon (Iraq)?  I know it has a president, prime minister or whatever, but specifically at this point in time the Commander-in-Chief of the United States holds the fate of that country in HIS POWER.  If he so chose to vacate our troops there, the country would implode and he would no longer be its ‘king’.  Barack Obama is the current ‘king of Babylon’.  He holds in common, with its executed dictator Saddam, the name ‘Hussein’ which has a Greek Ordinal 6-6 gematria value of 666! BHO’s first and last names in Greek have a remaining value of 738, which is 6+66+666! Altogether, first plus middle plus last has a value of 1404 (also the sea beast’s number – see 1404 http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/oct2009/kevinh1016.htm).

Look at the verse number in which the king of Babylon first appears in this passage:  it is Isaiah 14:04!  The passage in which ‘the heights’ or ‘bamah’ appears is 14:14.  The English reduced value of OBAMA is 14!  1404 is also 6 x 234 making BHO’s ordinal 1-1 value 234! 13×18=234 (Revelation 13:18) and Daniel 9:26. (9×26=234).

In conclusion: Jesus (speaking of Satan); Isaiah (speaking of Lucifer); matching Greek gematria (1651); Hebrew spoken (Baraq [of] Bamah); John (speaking of 666); and John again (speaking of the antichrist) chapter and verse values (1404 = BHO, 14 = Obama); the ‘Sea Beast’ has a number of 1404; all speak the NAME of the CURRENT ‘king of Babylon’ as the same person which is BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!

Nov 5,2009 Judgment of Islam and Are We There Yet

There are two articles in raptureready.com that are very good and I suggest the readers to read.  The first article by Todd is the Judgment of Islam, and the second by Terry is Are We There Yet.  Both articles relate the events seen in the world to the soon coming of the tribulations.  One fact that both articles do not address is that the major indicator of the soon approaching tribulation is the identity of the Antichrist as Being President Obama as pointed out in many articles in this blog.

When this fact is considered the conclusion has to be that we are there already or just at the door. No analysis of what is happening in the news or in the world will put things more into place that this fact.  The Antichrist is already in power at the most powerful nation in the world and his full control is only a matter of his supporters provoking a crisis that will justify his use of force and the armies of this nation.

I speck that this crisis will be provoked by the Islamic nations in the very near future. The prophecies in the bible show the complete destruction of these Islamic nations.

Hi John and Doves,

If you missed my letter yesterday, entitled, “Oct. 29, 2008 thru Sept. 23, 2015–HAVE WE ENTERED THE FINAL 7 YEARS???!”, please read that letter before reading this one. I held off a couple of days sending that letter because I have been wrong in the past and I wanted assurance from the Lord that what I believed He had shown me was the absolute truth.  I did not want to get involved again with theories that seemed right, but turned out not to be right.  I was about 98% sure that what I had written was directly from the Lord. I can NOW tell you because of THREE totally awesome confirmations in the past 24 hours that yesterday’s letter has given me ABSOLUTE 100% ASSURANCE THAT WE HAVE NOW ENTERED ON OCT. 29, 2008, THE null WEEK OF DANIEL AND THAT null IS, OR WILL BE, THE ANTICHRIST!!!  PLEASE take the time to read the rest of this letter, before you reject what I have just told you.

For many years I was at the forefront of Bible Prophecy, with my teaching, preaching, newsletters, and tracts.  At many different Bible Prophecy conferences, when only the speakers were allowed tables for their books and tapes, I was the one exception, because I was about the only one writing and producing end-time Bible Prophecy tracts.  The Lord abundantly blessed our ministry in ways that I never dreamed possible. Almost 10,000,000 of our tracts are now in circulation.

Our tract and newsletter ministry and evangelistic ministry went from 1988 thru 2001.  I have never written another tract or newsletter since 2001.  We have been filling a few tract orders and using up our inventory of tracts since then, but other than that, we have not been used in end-times prophecy since that time.  The two main reasons have been my divorce and burn-out.  Both my wife and I had full-time jobs and our ministry took up at least as much of our time as our jobs did. We would receive as many as 78 tract orders in the mail in one day.  Plus, we were raising 3 absolutely fabulous daughters.  I was so sure that the Lord was going to come in the late 1980’s, then I was so sure that the Lord was going to come in the 1990’s, then I was so sure that the Rapture had to be in 2000, or 2001. Burnout and marriage problems hit me about this same time and I could no longer keep up with it all.

I have been on the Lord’s shelf since that time, usually keeping up with some posts on Five Doves, but not involved with any type of real service for the Lord.  That all changed on Oct. 30, 2008, when the Lord chose to take me off that shelf and begin to use me again.  Because nobody else on Five Doves saw what the Lord revealed to me on that day, the Lord left me with no choice, considering the awesome news that hit me like a bolt of lightning and electrified my spirit like nothing ever had before.  It was a divine revelation that directly and instantaneously came from the Lord.  There is no longer the slightest doubt in my mind.  The revelation was that THE null WEEK OF DANIEL BEGAN ON OCT. 29, 2008, AND WILL CONCLUDE ON SEPT. 23, 2015, AND THAT null WILL BE THE ANTICHRIST!!!

I felt compelled in my spirit to comprise the letter that I sent yesterday, which flowed from the Holy Spirit, yet still took 6 hours to read and proofread.  Because of knee surgery, which is keeping me from work for 11 days, and the impending election, I decided to not send the letter until after the election. The night of the election I was up until almost 2 a.m., watching the results and praying.  The conclusion of my prayer went something like this:

“Dear Lord,  It has now been one week since the null week of Daniel began, and I do not know of another person who has seen what you have shown me.  If this revelation is from you, why is nobody else seeing it?  You have given me that bolt of lightning which electrified my spirit when the revelation came.  I felt your Holy Spirit all over me as I comprised that letter. Now, because apparently nobody else has seen what you have shown me, I only feel 98% certain that what I have written is the truth.

Lord, you know that I have set forth other time frames for the possible Rapture and timing of the Final 7 Years, and they have proven to be not correct.  Can you understand the hesitancy in my spirit?  I never want to be involved with misleading people again.  I understand that what You are revealing to me has already happened, and is not something in the future.  After 7 years of being on the shelf, why have you chosen me at this time?  I do not feel worthy of this calling and I do not feel spiritually ready for this calling, but I will accept it, if you will give me confirmation that the information in my 7-page letter is the absolute truth.”

The only other time that I remember throwing out a fleece to God asking for confirmation was in about 1976, when the Lord was calling me to be a minister, which was the last thing that I wanted to do.  He amazingly complied by giving me 3 unbelievable confirmations within 24 hours.  Needless to say, within 2 months, I started going to a night Bible School, despite having a full-time job, and raising a family.  When God spoke like that, I felt absolutely compelled to move and move quickly.  Did I dare have the audacity to ask God for confirmation again?  Because of the magnitude of what I felt the Lord was sharing with me, which was that the Final 7 Years have begun and that null would be the Antichrist, and because of wrong projections in the past, I felt I had no choice, but to ask God for confirmation that this was the absolute truth, so I continued on with my prayer, which went something like this:

“Lord, if will give me a confirmation, it will not matter to me how many people reject this message. It will not matter what their reasons are for rejecting this message.  It will not matter if none of the end-time prophecy ministers receive this message.  I will deliver YOUR message to whomever you lead me to without apology.  Furthermore, I will go forth with this message with boldness and with the power of your Holy Spirit upon me.  Use me Lord, if you choose, in whatever capacity you choose, to get this message out.  I will be faithful in getting out this message, but it will be up to your Holy Spirit to make it real to people.

Lord, [like] so many Christians, I have seen 4:44 on my digital clock, many times in the past year or two.  It was almost uncanny the number of times that Christians would be awakened in the middle of the night at 4:44.  Whenever it happened to me, which was often, I would sense in my spirit that You were telling me that the Rapture and the Sudden Destruction were drawing so close.  I now have the audacity, because of the magnitude of this message and because of past misrepresentations, to ask for you to wake me up at 4:44 exactly THIS morning.  Or because Daniel 9:27 is the verse that You are showing me has now been fulfilled by null, wake me up at 9:27 exactly THIS morning. I need to go from 98% to 100%.  I need to have all doubt removed. Please, please Lord, I really, really need this confirmation.

In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.”

I am not going to suggest to any of you, that you throw a fleece out to God like the one that I did.  I will suggest that you ask the Lord to confirm the message of these two letters in His own way to you.  I am praying that what I am about to share with you will be all the confirmation many of you will need.  Others will need more confirmation. I will leave that between you and your Lord.

Here is exactly what happened after I prayed that prayer on election night:

I went to bed around 1:50 a.m.  I awoke three times that morning.  The first time I awoke at 4:47 on my digital clock.  At the time, it meant nothing to me because it was not exactly at 4:44.  I went quickly back to sleep and awoke around 6:15 a.m. to go to the bathroom.  Again, I went quickly back to sleep and was in a deep, deep sleep, when all of a sudden I was wide awake.  It was like someone had startled me in my deep sleep. I never wake up like that.  I hate mornings and I never go from a deep, deep sleep to being wide awake in one quick moment unless it is the alarm going off.  Whether it was angel or the Lord Himself, I do not know, but somehow I was awakened, as God is my witness, at EXACTLY 9:27 a.m. on my digital clock.

Of course, it did not take me long to realize the magnitude of what had just taken place.  The Lord had now removed ALL doubt from my mind. My spirit was energized like it had been a few days earlier when the Lord gave me the revelation.  The Lord of all creation had now spoken with me personally and gave me the VERY confirmation that I had asked Him for. I can now BOLDLY say to all of you reading this letter that WE HAVE NOW ENTERED THE FINAL 7 YEARS OF HUMAN HISTORY BEFORE THE 2ND COMING OF CHRIST AND null IS, OR WILL BE, THE ANTICHRIST!!!  But wait, the Lord was not done with me yet.

In the early afternoon of this same day, Oct. 5, 2008, I went to the doctor’s office for a follow-up call five days after my knee surgery. I returned to my car (getting in and out of my car was a little difficult, but I managed), started the engine, and realized the radio had not been turned off, and immediately, here are THE VERY FIRST WORDS I heard come forth from the speaker on the Christian radio program that was on:  “AND HE SHALL CONFIRM THE COVENANT WITH MANY FOR ONE WEEK”!!!  I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EARS!!!  The speaker was quoting Daniel 9:27, which was EXACTLY the verse that the Lord was showing me confirming that null is, or would be, the Antichrist, and the null week of Daniel, mentioned in that VERY verse, had now begun.

I drove home in total amazement at what God had just done.  He was making 100% certain that I had NO doubt in my mind about the revelation that He had shared with me. Maybe this 2nd confirmation is for some of you reading this right now more than for me.  I was still in awe of his awakening me at EXACTLY 9:27 (Daniel 9:27), like I had dared ask Him to, and now this happens to me a few hours later.  What are the odds of these two things happening by coincidence?  Astronomical, to say the least.  I asked the Lord for a confirmation within 24 hours and He had now given me 2 unbelievable confirmations, only hours apart.  You who are now reading this letter, now must ask yourself the same question, “What are the odds that those two things could happen by coincidence?”  Those of you with your pre-conceived ideas about how the end times will unfold and where the Antichrist HAS to come from, you must be honest with yourself and admit that these two! confirmations could not happen by coincidence.

But wait, the Lord was not done with me yet.  As I previously stated, in 1976, the Lord gave me 3 confirmations, when I had only asked Him for one.  Would He do the same again?  I felt that I did not need a 2nd confirmation, let alone a 3rd.  I was not about to ask for a 3rd confirmation.  But because of the magnitude of this revelation and because it was so unconventional that almost nobody had seen it, I began to feel in my spirit that the Lord had a 3rd confirmation waiting for me before the 24 hours would expire.

After meditating on the events of the past few days and the writing of my first letter that I was getting ready to send to Five Doves (www.fivedoves.com) that evening, now that the Lord had given me more than enough confirmation, my thoughts kept going back to my first awakening at 4:47 that very morning.  I kept thinking that the many times that I had been awakened in the past, it been at exactly 4:44 a.m.  I could not accept 4:47 as a confirmation, because I had asked for Him to awaken me at EXACTLY 4:44 or 9:27 (Daniel 9:27).  The Lord began to show me that indeed 4:47 was a THIRD CONFIRMATION.

What was I asking for a confirmation of?  A confirmation that Daniel 9:27 took place on Oct. 29, 2008, of course. ” What does 4:44 have to do with Daniel 9:27?”, the Lord seemed to be asking me.  “Nothing that I know of Lord”, was my response.  The Lord seemed to be telling me that awakening me at 4:47 a.m. was AN EVEN GREATER sign because it pertained to Daniel 9:27 and 4:44 did not.  After all, wasn’t that what I was looking for?  The first confirmation that the Lord revealed to me was an awakening at 9:27 EXACTLY within 24 hours as I had asked.  The 2nd confirmation was the voice quoting DANIEL 9:27 EXACTLY THE MOMENT I TURNED MY CAR ON.  Why should not a 3rd confirmation have direct connection to Daniel 9:27 also?  It did not take the Lord long to reveal to me that He had indeed given me a 3rd confirmation, as I kept pondering what happened on Oct. 29, 2008, to fulfill Daniel 9:27. Of course, it was very simple. The 44th President of the U.S. ushered the world into the Final SEVEN years on OCT. 29, 2008.  There it was, 4-4-7.  That is when the Lord chose to awaken me, at 4:47 a.m., and then at 9:27 a.m., EXACTLY as I had asked Him to.

I asked the Lord for ONE CONFIRMATION WITHIN 24 HOURS AND HE CHOSE TO GIVE ME THREE CONFIRMATIONS WITH 24 HOURS.  WHAT A TOTALLY AWESOME GOD!!!  WE SERVE A GREAT AND MIGHTY GOD!  From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you, Lord.  It is now between you and God as to what you do with this information.  You only have two choices really, as far as I can see.  I honestly do not see how anyone can say that the information in this letter and the overwhelming evidence in the first letter could ALL be coincidence.  The evidence for the Final Seven Years beginning on Oct. 29, 2008 AND ENDING ON SEPT. 23, 2015, is OVERWHELMING!  The fulfillment of Daniel 9:27 on Oct. 29, 2008, is also an ABSOLUTE PERFECT FIT, WHICH MEANS THAT null IS, OR WILL BE, THE ANTICHRIST!

The three totally amazing confirmations that the Lord chose to give to me cannot, by any stretch of the imagination, be coincidental. It is my conviction that YOU have now been confronted with the TRUTH.  Your only other option is to believe that I am lying about these confirmations.  I have presented to you as truthful of an account of God’s 3 amazing confirmations within 24 hours as I possibly could.  I will leave it up to you and God, as to whether you believe it.

The biggest question that now faces all of us, is what are we going to do with this divine revelation that He has chosen to give us?  Surely, it cannot just be business as usual.  The Rapture could be any day now.  I am persuaded that it will probably be within the next 7 months.  There may or may not be any more warnings than this before the Rapture, which I believe will be simultaneous with the Sudden Destruction, spoken of in I Thessalonians 5:3.  Let us continue to hold on to Psalms 108, which seems to indicate a possible 2008 Rapture.

I never dreamed that Daniel 9:27 would be fulfilled in this manner.  I never dreamed that the null Week of Daniel would begin BEFORE the Rapture.  During the 1st Coming of Christ, the Lord did many unconventional things, not according to how MOST people saw the Scriptures being fulfilled.  Most everybody did not recognize him as the Messiah.   It appears as if the 2nd Coming of Christ is starting out the same way. So we MUST be prepared to let some of our pre-conceived ideas go, as to what we THINK the Scriptures teach us concerning the end-times.  Maybe that is why the Lord has chosen me to give this revelation to.  I am open to the leading of the Holy Spirit.  I am willing to let God be God.  God will never go contrary to what is in His Word.  But He may go contrary to our pre-conceived ideas, even if we believe that is what the Word teaches.

Many of you are going to have questions. Please feel free to respond to these letters with a letter to Five Doves, or respond to my email address at the bottom.  I do not know all of the answers.  The Lord has not revealed to me the whole picture of these Final Seven Years.  I may not get ANY more revelations concerning the future.  This revelation came supernaturally by the Holy Spirit and was confirmed supernaturally by the Lord Himself.  As I have already stated, it went against some of what I had been taught and probably what most of you had been taught.  I am not sure if we are in the Tribulation yet or not.  BUT THE null WEEK OF DANIEL, THE FINAL 7 YEARS HAVE BEGUN, AS OF OCT. 29, 2008!!!  Of that, I am now sure.

Those of you reading this letter who are not saved, it is NOW time to get saved. Repent, and turn away from your sin, and turn towards God, by asking Jesus to come into your heart to become your personal Lord and Savior.  Thank Him for saving you.  Then pray, read your Bible, and go to a fundamental Christian church.  When you pray, take the time to listen, and throughout each day, allow Him to convict you of sin and to lead and guide you.

For those of you [who] are Christian, ask the Lord if there is anything in your life that should not be there and if there is anything that you should be doing, that you are not doing.  Ask the Lord, if there is anything that would keep you from the Rapture of the Church, which could be ANY DAY NOW.  You should be sensing a NEW urgency, unlike any you have ever experienced before.  Ask the Lord what you should do with that NEW urgency.  He will show you.  He will lead you.  He will guide you.  All you have to do is stay totally open to the leading of the Holy Spirit every day.  JESUS IS COMING VERY, VERY SOON!!!  I leave you with my favorite verses.  I believe THAT DAY that is being referred to is the day of the Rapture and the Sudden Destruction.

“And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (partying), and drunkenness, and CARES OF THIS LIFE, and so THAT DAY come upon you unawares.  For as a snare (trap) shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man (Jesus).” (Luke 21:34-36).  Anyone who has read these two letters now has NO EXCUSE to be caught unawares.  Even so, come Lord Jesus!

I may be your corroborating witness.  First I want to say that for many years I have held the conviction that the Antichrist was going to come from the USA and in the 1980’s I thought President Reagan was to be him (white & Republican) compared to (black & Democrat) as I believe now. I also thought like you do that the church was going to be present until the opening of the 2^nd Seal the Red Horse of Revelation. You can ask a common friend Dr. A.P. who lives in New Mexico about what I have stated so far.

In the last few post There has been a discussion of the timing of the Rapture and the reveling of  the Antichrist. The article by Mercer is well written and structurally sound and a must read.  The revealing of the Antichrist is to the whole world in general and does not imply that a few knowledgeable believers can not know his identity at this moment in time before the Rapture.

I would like to take an in-depth look at the second chapter of the second epistle of Paul to the saints at Thessalonica. This is very important in assessing the timing of the emergence of the Beast from the Abyss into the world and when the gathering together of the Church will happen. I could spend a lot of time presenting definitions of Greek words and quoting from learned scholars who have done much research on this section. But too much technical information can overburden the reader. So I shall distil the research and provide enough evidence to prove our conclusions are accurate and true. I will dissect this chapter verse by verse and then tie it all together in a conclusion at the end, with the help of God. We begin at 2 Thessalonians 2:1

“Now we beseech you brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him.”

Paul is addressing two issues here in this first sentence. First, ‘the coming of our Lord,’ and secondly, ‘our gathering together unto Him.’ These are two separate events and must be distinguished as such. The coming of Jesus Christ back to earth to rule is going to occur at the end of the Apocalypse, which culminates at Armageddon. After this, Jesus will establish His millennial Kingdom where He will rule this earth for one thousand years.

The gathering together, on the other hand, will occur before the events of the Great Tribulation begin and this will become clearer as we advance through this chapter.

Paul uses the word ‘beseech’ in his opening line. This is a very strong word in the Greek and means to ‘earnestly beg’ or ‘to implore.’ It is an extreme use of ‘beg.’ So what is Paul earnestly begging of the believers in Thessalonica?

“That ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”

Here Paul explains what he is referring to. He is talking about ‘the Day of Christ.’ As was explained at the beginning of this opus, the ‘Day of Christ’ is another phrase meaning the ‘Day of Wrath’ or the ‘Day of Judgement’ or the ‘Day of the Lord.’ In other words, it is talking about the Great Tribulation and the incidents, which are to occur during this awful time.

Paul says they are not to be shaken in mind or troubled. Again these are very extreme words, which illustrate that the believers were terrified and their minds and hearts were under extreme pressure as a result of something they had heard. What it was that had them in this frightened state of mind which caused them undue pressure was that, ‘the the day of Christ is at hand.’ In the Greek, ‘at hand’ means, ‘present.’ That is, they were terrified because they thought the time of the Apocalypse was present or had begun, and they were to go through it.

Scholars agree that the NASB has the most accurate translation of this verse:

“That you may not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or by a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the Day of the Lord has come.”

Paul is earnestly beseeching them, begging them, not to be upset or worried that the Day of Wrath had begun. He said they were not to be troubled either by a spirit, nor by word, nor by letter from anyone, that this Day of Christ had begun. He continues:

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first,

And that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”

It is interesting that Paul tells them, ‘let no man deceive you..,’ for there is so much deception going on in evangelical circles regarding this topic. But here we will ignore what man says and adhere only to the Word of truth and allow it speak on its own behalf as we have from page one of this book. For if we stay on the narrow path of the Word, then our passage will be sure and true.

We are not to allow ourselves to be deceived by any man or by a spirit (an evil spirit of deception), working through man; ‘for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first.’ ‘That day’ is again referring to the Day of Wrath or the Great Tribulation. And that day cannot begin ‘except there come a falling away first.’ So after this falling away, then the Day of Wrath can commence and when it does, then shall ‘that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.’

Paul is telling us not to allow ourselves to be tricked by any man into believing that the Day of Wrath has begun, for it cannot start until after a falling away. Then when it does start, the man of sin, the son of perdition or Antichrist, will be revealed. But not until AFTER the ‘falling away.’ So what is this ‘falling away’? For this is the key phrase which points to the commencement of the Apocalypse and the revealing of the Beast from the Abyss.

The Greek for ‘falling away’ is apostasia. This word has been transliterated into the English as ‘apostasy’, which means an abandonment of one’s religious faith. Thus the vast majority of Biblical teachers and students believe that in these Last Days, Christians and believers of all hues will turn away from God and from the truths of the Bible and fall by the wayside. Almost every evangelical teacher believes there will be a ‘falling away’ from God in the End Times, and you can read this in books and periodicals and on websites everywhere. They point to the hedonistic ways of the world and to the downward spiral of depravity into which the secular world is going, and they use this to prove that the apostasy is occurring. But this is not the original meaning of the word apostasia in early Greek literature.

Firstly, in the text it reads ‘THE’ falling away and not, ‘a’ falling away as it reads in the KJV. This is a crucial difference. This marks out ‘the falling away’ as a specific event.

Apostasia is made up of two words, apo and stasia. In appendix 104 of The Companion Bible, EW Bullinger defines the various Greek prepositions and what they mean, as Greek is a mathematical language and is very precise. He defines apo thus:

“ Apo governs only one case, the genitive, and denotes motion from the surface of an object, as a line drawn from the circumference of an object…Hence it is used of motion away from a place. Apo may consequently be used of deliverance or, passing away from a state or condition.”

In Greek, apo can be represented as a line drawn starting from the circumference of a circle and going away in an outward direction. Stasia literally means a ‘standing away,’ or ‘to draw out,’ or ‘to separate.’ So the whole word means, ‘a standing away from,’ or ‘a drawing out from,’ or ‘a separation away from,’ or ‘a going out from among.’ The original meaning of this word, which is agreed by many Greek scholars familiar with the ancient texts is, ‘the departure.’ This agrees with the definition of ‘away’ in Greek which suggests ‘a motion from the surface’ or ‘a motion away from a place as a line drawn from the circumference of an object.’

The Geneva Bible, the Cranmer Bible, first published in 1537, the Tyndale Bible published in 1539, preceding the King James Version, all translate this verse, ‘before the Day of the Lord comes, there must come a departure first.’ That is, before the Day of the Lord begins, there must first be a departure of the born-again believers from this world to be with Christ.

Paul Tan, a scholar, did an extensive study on the phrase, ‘falling away’, and had this to say:

“What precisely does Paul mean when he says that the falling away must happen before the Tribulation? The definite article ‘the’ denotes that this is a definite event, an event distinct from the appearance of the man of sin. The Greek word for ‘the falling away’ taken by itself does not mean apostasy or defection. Neither does it mean ‘to fall’ as the Greeks have another word for that (pipto: I fall). The best translation of the word is ‘to depart.’ The apostle Paul here refers to a definite event, which he calls ‘the departure’ which will occur just before the start of the Tribulation. This departure is the gathering together of the Church otherwise called by some, the Rapture of the Church.”

Remember the context of this whole chapter:

1 The coming of the Lord Jesus

2 Our gathering together unto Him.

So ‘the departure’ is referring to the gathering together of the Church of God. Paul had elaborated on this in length in his first epistle to the Thessalonians when he described how Jesus would come briefly and all Christian believers would be caught up or gathered to meet Him in the air. So what Paul is doing here is allaying their worst fears. For some people were teaching that the Day of the Lord, or Tribulation, had already begun and that they were to suffer through it. This is why their minds were shaken and they were greatly troubled and terrified. But Paul reiterates and reminds them that this time of Wrath cannot begin until first there is ‘the departure.’ And only after that will the man of sin, the Antichrist, be revealed. This is why Paul says in verse 5:

“Remember ye not that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?”

He is reminding them that he already spelled out in great detail in his first letter that the Lord would return briefly to gather them together and he finished his passage in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 regarding the Rapture with the phrase:

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

For there is no comfort in telling Christians that they are to suffer the horrible torture and persecution and death at the hands of the Devil’s angels in the Great Tribulation. Jesus also stated this truth in John 14:1-4 when He promised His disciples that He was going to His Father’s house but would return for them:

“Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.

In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Can anything be plainer? These are the words of Jesus Himself. He clearly states that He is going to prepare a place for us. He says this twice lest we are in any doubt. For why would He be preparing a place for us if we are to remain here on earth? By Jesus telling us that he is preparing a place for us in heaven, the inference is we are going to be spending some time there. When the time is right, he will return and take us to this house of many rooms. But listen to how the Lord begins this passage:

‘Let not your heart be troubled.’ This ties in with Paul’s statements in both 1 Thessalonians 4 and in 2 Thessalonians 2 where he says, when speaking about the gathering together, ‘Let not your hearts be troubled,’ and also when he earnestly begged them, ‘That ye be not soon shaken in mind or be troubled.’ Paul exhorted the Christians in his day not to be deceived by any man or by any spirit that may be operating through man. Or by letters or fine words from sincere people, even if they are Bible believing Christians. We are not going through the day of Wrath because the departure of the Christians MUST happen first, then and only then will the Tribulation begin and the man of sin, the Beast from the Abyss will be manifested.

“Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God, sits in the Temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”

This is what the Beast will do in the latter part of the Apocalypse. Commentators take from this that a new Temple will be built in Jerusalem and at some time near the end of the Tribulation, the Antichrist will go into the Temple and proclaim that he indeed is the one and only true God. The epistle continues:

“And now ye know what witholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked be revealed…”

‘Witholdeth’ and ‘letteth’ are both the same word in Greek, katecho, which means ‘hold fast; hold back; to restrain from going; keep secure; keep firm; that which hinders.’ This is speaking of the Antichrist. And Paul is literally saying, ‘now you know what is holding him fast.’ Or, ‘there is one who is holding him fast.’ Or ‘he who now restrains.’ This agrees with our study so far which has taught us that the Antichrist is in prison, or is being held fast, in an underground jail. And he will be held secure in this prison, ‘until he be taken out of the way.’ What must be taken out of the way before the man of sin can be revealed? According to this chapter so far, there can be only one answer; The Church of God or Body of Christ must depart or be taken out of the way first, before the Antichrist can be released from the place where he is presently being ‘held fast.’

The New International Version translates verse 6 so:

“And now you know what is holding him (Antichrist) back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time.”

It is not an apostasy that is holding the Antichrist back. If anything, an apostasy should hasten his arrival. It is the presence of the Age of Grace and the Holy Spirit indwelling the Church of God on this earth, which is preventing the Beast from ascending out of the Abyss at this present time. But when the Church departs, then the man of sin will no longer be held back and will be revealed.

Imagine you are in the departure lounge of an airport. Then you get into the plane and it takes off. The plane goes in a motion away from the circumference of the earth as it ascends up into the air. This is ‘the departure.’ This is the meaning of apostasia. It has nothing to do with people turning away from God. For God promised that in the Last Days, He would pour out His spirit on His people. This is evidenced by the fact that thousands are coming to Christ daily around the world and the Word is spreading rapidly, mostly in poorer countries such as Africa, South America and China as well as India.

Paul never mentions a rebellion or a falling away from truth in Thessalonians. The whole context of the epistle is the gathering together, the Day of the Lord and the second coming. So there is no need to worry. Comfort your family and friends with these words. Jesus has promised us that He will return to take us to the place He has been preparing for us for the past 2,000 years. We have little to be fearful of or troubled about for He has spoken; ‘Let not your hearts be troubled.’ Romans 5:9 (KJV) agrees with the thesis that the Church of God is not involved in the Tribulation:

“Since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him.”

This truth is reiterated in 1 Thessalonians 1:10 (NIV):

“And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead-Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.”

And again in 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (NIV):

“For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

How many times must we be told such comforting truths yet still so many refuse to accept and believe. The deceiving spirits that were operating to terrify Christians in Thessalonica are working hard in the Church today. You can believe these spirits if you so choose. But I believe the words of Jesus and of Paul.
