May 21, 2011 A prophetic date or not? More to come!
Well the date of the 21 is almost half gone and no Rapture yet. Those on this post must understand that the most important thing in Bible prophecy is dealing with a text written thousands of years back and as in the case of the well publicized case for today starting in a date from long ago and making it to a precise day at present.
That is not an approach that would yield a probable time let us say within a week. But that is not the only way as it was shown by John Tng in his article a few days back. In his approach he came up with the date 5:24 and the year 2011 using what happened in the year 33 AD, being May 24 the feast of Shevout or Pentecost. My question to him was if it was not possible that it was pointing to the feast of Pentecost and not the 24 of May. He answered me that it was possible.
For the year 2011 there is his post and another one a few days latter. Another way to arrive at the date of 2011 is obtained by looking at the birth of the Nation of Israel in May 15, 1948. This birth of a nation in one day was the theme of the prophet Ezekiel in Chapters 36 and 37 and it was to occur at the end of times.
In the Gospel of Matthew the Lord Jesus referring to Israel as the fig tree said that the generation that saw this happen will see his coming.
This paragraph presented a very difficult prophetic puzzle to the student of scripture because the possibilities ran the gamut from 40 years to 70 years. Of course that meant from 1988 to 2018 for the end of the Tribulations.
If the Tribulations are 7 years long the possibilities for the start of the Tribulations and the rise of the Antichrist spanned the period between 1981 and 2011.
Of course we are at the end of this time span so consequently the rise of the Antichrist and the beginning of the Tribulations has to be on this year, with the Second Coming of Christ due on 2018.
In conclusion we have pinpointed the rise of the Antichrist and the Tribulation to the year 2011.
The Rapture is a bit more difficult to pinpoint due to the fact that there are no obvious prophetic markers as there are for the other two.
Mr. Tng investigation is certainly possible and Pentecost is also possible. Christ started his church on Pentecost May 24, 33 AD so he may take his church out on a fixed number of years afterward say 2011 on the anniversary of Pentecost.
All this said for the scoffers and unbelievers I am including a cartoon by Doonesbury that scoffs at this date setting by us date setters.
