Jan 31, 2015 The new Saudi King and the shifts in policy to come

The area of the middle east is in a constant state of flux, where yesterday’s enemies become today’s friends and vice verse.

This changes will affect the economy as the policy of oil production and use may change and a new antagonism towards Israel may be in the offing.

From the article the Muslim Brotherhood seems to come up on top again and this is a radical development for Egypt.

The Slaying of the Saudi Spider

Posted: 01/30/2015 8:54 am EST Updated: 01/30/2015 10:59 am EST

The palace coup is complete. In a far-reaching decree on Thursday night, the new Saudi king Salman unraveled the legacy of his half-brother Abdullah and set the kingdom on course for a significant regional realignment. A possible rapprochement with Turkey and Qatar, a return to the traditional role Saudi Arabia has occupied as mediator between Fatah and Hamas, and a qualitative change in the support Riyadh has given the military rulers of Egypt are all now on the table.

Blowing away the cobwebs also means dealing with the spider. Prince Bandar bin Sultan has been stripped of his last remaining role as head of the National Security Council. This, one senses, really is the end of the line for Bandar, and the region will be all the more stable for it.

Abdullah’s two sons, Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah, who is the governor of Mecca, and Prince Turki, who governed the capital Riyadh, have been dismissed. Abdullah’s only son left in power is Prince Muteb, who stays as head of the National Guard. There is no love lost in this family.

A conservative cleric, Saad al-Shethri, who backed gender segregation in higher education, has become Salman’s personal adviser. But a balance has been struck with the addition of the new information minister, Adel al-Toraifi, a young liberal who is a former head of Al Arabiya news channel.

The two men to emerge with the power to run the country are Mohammed bin Nayef, the deputy crown prince, and Salman’s son Mohammed, who now has three roles: defense minister, general secretary to the royal court, and president of the newly formed Council of Economic and Development Affairs. Another Salman son, Abdulaziz, is deputy petroleum minister. The second generation has now been firmly secured by the Sudairi clan.

Salman started his reign by buying the love of his people, the same thing the late King Abdullah tried to do during the first months of the Arab Spring. All state employees will receive two months of bonus salary, and all retired state employees will receive two months of bonus pension. Students who receive state grants and those on social security will get two months of extra funds as well. The bill comes to a mere $30 billion.

“Dear people: You deserve more and whatever I do I would not be able to give you what you deserve,” the newly inaugurated monarch said on Twitter, just a few weeks after Riyadh signaled it would have to cut back on public spending because of the oil-price crash. Salman was retweeted 250,000 times.

King Salman has had rave reviews. All manner of former opponent of King Abdullah are now singing Salman’s praises. Informed Saudi observers note that King Abdullah became dogmatic in his last years. Salman, for them, marks a return to the moderation of King Fahd.

The new king stressed continuity, but his first seven days in power have been anything but. And the gear change will be noted first abroad. In a world in which personal relations play out in politics, it is important to remember who Salman’s and Bin Nayef’s friends are.

King Salman has remained close to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, the emir of Qatar, so the threat that Saudi Arabia made last year to lay siege to its tiny neighbor or have it expelled from the Gulf Cooperative Council now looks like a bad memory. Similarly, bin Nayef is close to senior Turkish officials, Saudi sources tell me.

The rift between Turkey and Saudi Arabia after the Arab revolutions of 2011 will have pained him, not just because the two regional powers need each other to contain Iran’s expanded influence in Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Syria but personally. It is likely that he will repair that rift.

It is also payback time for bin Nayef’s personal enemies. The interior minister has still not forgotten that two-hour conversation that the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, Mohammed bin Zayed, had with Richard Hass 12 years ago, which we know about courtesy of WikiLeaks. Speaking about bin Nayef’s father, who was the Saudi interior minister at the time, the Emirati prince observed that Darwin’s theory that man was descended from the apes was correct.

Bin Nayef, the son, has more recent scores to settle with Abu Dhabi’s ruler. Erem News, which, like every Emirati news outlet, is controlled by the royal court, questioned bin Nayef’s appointment as deputy crown prince. Saying that Salman failed to consult the Allegiance Council, the UAE mouthpiece noted, “The mechanism of choosing Mohammad Bin Nayef from among several prominent grandsons has attracted the attention of observers.”

This was not a casual post. An Egyptian TV anchor, Yousef Al-Hosseini, tried the same thing on as soon as Abdullah’s latest illness became known. According to Arab Secrets, this was part of a campaign masterminded by the ousted Khaled al-Tuwaijri, Abdullah’s confidant, to keep Prince Meteb lined up for the role of deputy crown prince. The website named the route through which the anchor’s script was dictated, from the Saudi royal court through to Sisi’s office manager, Abbas Kamil, the man who has been secretly recorded asking for the satirist Bassim Yousef to be taken off the air.

Tuwaijri, Bandar and bin Zayed ran out of time. The king died before a serious challenge to Salman could be mounted. And now two of them, at least, are yesterday’s men. We will watch with interest what happens to the third. This food chain of intrigue from Riyadh to Cairo is likely to be broken.

The changes taking place in the Saudi royal palace are already having their effect. Bin Zayed stayed away from Abdullah’s funeral, as did the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. And just at the time when Sisi needs a fresh injection of Saudi cash, Egypt is more unstable than ever, with full-scale military operations in the Sinai and mass protests around the country that never seem to die down. The Egyptian Pound is at an all-time low. The options for Sisi appear to be narrowing.

This is not a good time for the Egyptian army to lose its chief bankroller in Riyadh, but this now is a real possibility. Even if bin Nayef decides to keep the funds going — and there was always a difference between funds promised and hard cash received — it may now come with strings attached.

The policy of declaring the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization may also be about to change. Salman himself received Sheikh Rached Ghannouchi, the leader of Ennadha, in his condolences for the late king. This is the most senior Islamist to be welcomed in Saudi Arabia. The removal of Suleiman Ab Al-Khail as the minister of endowments and Islamic affairs, who was an arch opponent of the Brotherhood, is another sign that the policy might be about to change.

Even if it doesn’t, the outcome of the earthquake this week in Saudi Arabia will be received with quiet satisfaction by senior foreign office officials who bridled at David Cameron’s launching of an inquiry into the Brotherhood in Britain, which was done under Saudi and Emirati pressure.

Up until Salman took over, the inquiry headed by Sir John Jenkins has proved to be a political embarrassment. It has been unpublishable because it came to the “wrong” conclusion, clearing the Brotherhood of any involvement in terrorism in Egypt. Now the new masters of Riyadh might even welcome such a conclusion.

Jan 31, 2015 Watch Yemen the Houthis and Saudi Arabia. Temple Mount. Gary Stearman

Last week there was a lot of news emanating from Yemen and Saudi Arabia. I have written about it before and linked the two interviews of Gary Stearman with Avi Lipkin on the same subject. It was almost as if Avi was forecasting the future events in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Very good work by Avi and Gary.

Jan 28, 2015 Sir Isaac Newton’s work leads to the timing of the Apocalypse!

Thanks to Mr. Jim Bramlett for this insightful look at the work of this brilliant scientist whose interpretation of Daniel’s chapter 9 about the seventy weeks of years we can make an educated guess as to the date of the last week to complete the 70 weeks of years.

Let us look at the text in Daniel chapter 9 from the KJV:

Gabriel’s Prophecy of the Seventy Weeks

20And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God; 21Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. 22And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. 23At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

24Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. 26And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

From the text the years are divided in two parts first, seven weeks and 62 weeks and Messiah is killed. Jesus was killed on Passover in 32 AD. the start of the 62 weeks is 62 x 360 = 22320 days.

The seven weeks are detailed as follows “and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks”.

If this is to be as Jim says then in Sept 23, 2015 is the start of the last week, the tribulation, and the end on Yom Kippur 20122 the second coming and the start of the first Jubilee of the Millenium as Sherry Vance gave on her timeline.

Thanks again to Jim and Sherry for their excellent posts.

“Sir Isaac Newton’s final profound secret”

Dear friends:

This is absolutely awesome!

There is a hot new Bible prophecy book out!  The title is: “Newton’s Riddle – The Mystery of Daniel’s 70th Week Revealed.”  It is a must read.

Author Neill G. Russell describes it this way:

“Would you like to know the fate of both the United States and Israel prophesied over three hundred years ago by one of the greatest geniuses the world has ever known?  Would you like to read the newspaper headlines for 2015 – months before they are written?   If you answered ‘yes’ to both questions, click the following Website or Facebook links below (at the end of this message) to find out how you can purchase a copy of one of the most talked about, prophetic books ever written.  Royalties from all book sales are donated to causes partnering for the full restoration of Israel and the Church.”

As you can guess, the book involves the late British genius, Sir Isaac Newton.  First, let me give you some background.

Back about 20 years ago I researched Sir Isaac Newton and wrote a commentary about his unique life, mind, and end-time views.  Some of this I have written about before but some of the below is excitingly new!

Newton, who lived some 300 years ago (1642-1727), was one of the greatest geniuses in all history, with perhaps the highest I.Q of anyone in history, except Jesus, who was God in human form.  Newton is called “the father of modern science” and “the father of the industrial revolution.” He discovered many scientific laws.

God chose Isaac Newton to impart many of His deepest secrets and riddles.  There is strong evidence that God gave Newton the most mysterious secret and riddle of all — the timing and the events of the end of the age!  You must read all of this e-mail!

Newton was a devout believer in Christ and Bible scholar, fluent in ancient languages, and who translated directly from the Hebrew and Greek.  He was unusually drawn to the prophet Daniel, which he began studying at age 12 and continued until he died at age 85. In fact, The Columbia History of the World, a secular history book, remarks, “At the end of his days he spent more time studying and writing about the prophecies in the Book of Daniel than he did in charting the heavens.”

Apparently, God Himself put in Newton’s heart this burning desire to study Daniel, then gave him the key to the timing of Christ’s return.

Could this be the final profound secret the Lord revealed to this godly genius near the end of his life — a secret “accidentally” discovered in the Library of Congress and republished just in the last few years — a secret so simple that most have missed it?

If Newton was correct in his interpretation of Daniel, the prophet to whom God gave specific timing, then the return of the Lord Jesus Christ will be very, very soon, indeed!

Newton’s understanding of one key passage in Daniel chapter 9 is fundamentally different from that of most common interpretations. In about 550 B.C., God gave the prophet Daniel a view of history to the end.  From Daniel 9:25, scholars usually add the “seven weeks (of years, or 49 years) and 62 weeks (434 years)” to get 483 years and calculate the time of Messiah’s First Coming. However, Newton says there is no linguistic basis for adding those two numbers (49 and 434), and to do so is “doing violence to the language of Daniel.” Newton says the two numbers separately speak of both the First and Second Coming, both being counted from the “going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem.”

Newton says the “62 weeks,” or 434-year part was fulfilled at the First Coming, and the “seven weeks,” or 49-year part will apply to the Second Coming. And three centuries ago he saw in the Scriptures and wrote about the rebirth of Israel at a time when such a thought was preposterous.

Amazingly, by faith and understanding of the Scriptures, he foresaw a “friendly kingdom” someday again issuing the “commandment to restore and build Jerusalem.” Now, centuries later, that “friendly kingdom” was the United Nations, which decreed Israel’s rebirth in November, 1947, causing Israel to be reborn in May, 1948.

The above is taken from my essay on Newton written in the mid-1990s shortly after obtaining a copy of Newton’s commentary on Daniel from the doctor who discovered Thomas Jefferson’s personal and initialed copy of it in the Library of Congress, and who then got permission to reprint it in the original, difficult-to-read olde English script.

However, my speculations back then wrongly assumed the final 49-year count began when Israel was born in 1948.  At the time, it did not occur to me that the count should probably begin on June 7, 1967, when Israel captured Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.

Sid Roth of Messianic Vision ministry has promoted this new book on the subject, “Newton’s Riddle – The Mystery of Daniel’s 70th Week Revealed,” by Neill G. Russell, which contains additional information about Newton and his understanding of the end times.

Sid says, “Newton’s Riddle by Neill Russell is a captivating, suspenseful tale ripped from tomorrow’s headlines. I have never read such a current, prophetic book. Newton’s Riddle is a ‘now’ book for the most critical juncture in human history.  You will not be able to put this biblical thriller down.”

Sid quotes from the book where it explains Newton’s calculations of adding 49 years to the June 1967 date.  Based on “Newton’s riddle” the book says, “Messiah’s possible return to earth will be on or before the year 2016.”

However, that is apparently based on using modern (365-day) years in the calculation.  As I pointed out in my e-mail dated February 20, 2008, if you use exactly 49 Jewish (360-day, prophetic) years from the day Israel captured the Temple Mount on June 7, 1967, you get 49 X 360 = 17640 days, which amazingly takes one exactly to September 23, 2015, the Day of Atonement 2015.

Newton apparently saw that as the Second Coming.  Instead, could it be the Rapture?  I don’t know.

Through clearly supernatural circumstances, I recently had the pleasure of meeting this most unusual author, Neill G. Russell, a brilliant Messianic Jew (birth name: Greenspan) who lives in Maryland, where he has been a high school science teacher for 41 years.   He drove down to my home and brought his wife – and food!  We had a great time of fellowship, food and talking about the Bible.  I sensed God’s hand strongly on his life.

Here’s how it happened…

Recently, a friend in my Friday night home Bible study reminded me of the commentary I had written years earlier about Sir Isaac Newton and his unique end-time understanding.  That quickened something in me.  I reviewed that old message, updated it and resent it to my e-mail list.  Then, some unknown recipient forwarded my message to Neill, who in turn contacted me via e-mail. He was very interested because of his new 2015 book.  Neill and I have since become good friends.

His book is built around Newton’s understanding of Daniel 9:25 in a gripping scenario of historical fiction but embracing real-life geopolitical events and situations. says:

‘Before his death in 1727, Sir Isaac Newton, the notorious physicist, concealed a prophetic script in an alchemy journal. This mysteriously coded script detailed crucial future events involving both Israel and the United States…and their relation to the return of Jesus Christ. During a trip to England to visit an old friend, Dr. Ezra Schroeder, a National Security Administration code breaker, happens upon the cryptic contents of Newton’s final work. With each passing day, as the political clouds around the United States and Israel grow increasingly ominous, Ezra knows what he must do. With this vital knowledge in hand, he must become a modern-day Moses and implore the reluctant president of the United States to come to the aid of the Jewish state of Israel which is on the brink of total annihilation…”

Some say Newton looked to A.D. 2060 for Christ’s return.  Not exactly true.  He looked to Daniel 9:25, but of course he had no way of knowing that the final years would be triggered in 1967 when Israel captured Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.

Mark Biltz, Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries wrote:

“Where other authors have merely whetted the readers appetites with hypothetical storylines based loosely on Biblical truths, author Neill G. Russell has masterly interwoven Biblical prophecy, current world events as they are unfolding, and the diabolical plots in the supernatural realm into an end-time, page turning thriller.”

Sid Roth wrote:

Newton’s Riddle by Neill Russell is a captivating suspenseful tale ripped from tomorrow’s headlines. I have never read such a current, prophetic book. Newton’s Riddle is a ‘now’ book for the most critical junction in human history. You will not be able to put this Biblical thriller down.”

Jan 28, 2015 Israel will seek refuge in Jordan to escape the Antichrist

this article by Jack Kelly explains in an excellent way the destinies of Israel and Jordan in the coming short years.

As we approach the coming seven years Tribulation we find Israel at odds with many nations in the world and it is well to know what the prophetic Word of God has to say about it.

The Tribulation is a time of Judgment for “ALL” the Nations of the world who have rejected the God of Israel and Jesus Christ the Messiah. At the end He will return to earth and establish His Kingdom on earth and His throne in Jerusalem. Israel will be restored to its promised glory as head of the Nations.

The article by Kelly covers one of those nations role as the neighbor of Israel at the time the vortex of the storm is centered there.

Edom, Moab, and Ammon

By Jack Kelley

Here’s a brief summary of the history and prophecy concerning these three neighbors of Israel who always seem to wind upon the wrong side of things where the Lord is concerned.

Edom, Moab, and Ammon in History

The biblical people called by the names above once occupied the territory we know today as Jordan, the nation due east of Israel. Not many people realize that Edom, Moab, and Ammon were given their homelands by God himself (Deut. 2:5, 9, 19) just like Israel was. And just like Israel was told to clear the land west of the Jordan River of the people who lived there at the time, Edom, Moab, and Ammon were told to perform the same service for God on the Eastern side (Deut. 2:10-12, 20-22).

One of the people groups they eliminated was the Rephaites (Rephaim), an ancient group of loosely related tribes of giants who are often thought to be descendants of the Nephilim, mentioned in Genesis 6. In fact, when the 12 Israelite spies first went into the promised land they reported seeing Nephilim there (Numbers 13:33). The Rephaites were a mysterious people about whom the Bible says very little, except that Israel, Edom, Moab, and Ammon were all given the task of destroying them and taking their land.

Moab and Ammon were named after the children of the incestuous unions of Lot and his two daughters. Lot was an unknowing participant, having been made intoxicated by his daughters, who saw becoming pregnant by their father as their only way to produce any offspring. Every other man they knew had perished in the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:30-38).

The Lord gave the Moabites and the Ammonites land east of Israel extending from the Jabbok River in the north to the Zered River in the south, with undefined eastern boundaries.

Edom was the name given to the descendants of Jacob’s twin brother Esau. Having patched things up after their split over the way Jacob had tricked Isaac into giving him Esau’s blessing (Genesis 27), they returned to the area near Kiriath Arba (Hebron) where Isaac and Rebekah lived. Upon Isaac’s death the two brothers buried him and divided up their inheritance.

Realizing they needed separate pasturelands because their herds would now be too large for them to remain together, Esau took his Canaanite wives and all he owned and moved some distance away into the hill country of Seir, east and south of the Dead Sea, just south of Moab and Israel. Later, the Lord told Moses He had given this land to Esau and his descendants. (Deut 2:5).

The relationship between Israel and its three neighbors to the East was never good, and they fought with each other frequently. Sometimes God used Israel to discipline them and at other times He used them to discipline Israel. Under King David, Israel conquered and subjugated all of them for a time (2 Samuel 8:1-14).

Four hundred years later, the Babylonians came as the Lord’s instrument of judgment against Israel. Edom, Moab, and Ammon all cheered for Babylon and made plans to carve up the Promised Land for themselves after the Babylonians carried Israel into captivity. This displeased the Lord and He had the Babylonians destroy them as well. Moab and Ammon ceased to exist as nations at that time (Ezekiel 25:10).

Edom was first welcomed as an ally in the Babylonian conquest of Judah, but Babylon soon turned on them and conquered them, too (Obadiah 1:7-9). God repaid Edom’s treachery against Israel (Obadiah 1:10-14) with Babylon’s treachery against Edom. The Edomites were destroyed and their lands were taken over by the Nabateans, a desert tribe from the south.

So Edom, Moab, and Ammon ceased to be nations at about the same time that Judah was carried off to Babylon. After 70 years of captivity, Israel was restored. In Jeremiah 48:47 the Lord promised one day to restore the fortunes of Moab as well, and in Jeremiah 49:6 He made the same promise to Ammon. But He made no such promise to Edom.

Edom, Moab, and Ammon in the End Times

Edom, Moab, and Ammon are listed in Psalm 83:6-7 among the participants in a scheme to destroy Israel and erase its name from people’s memories. By most accounts this battle has never taken place and will most likely be one of the next events on the prophetic horizon. The psalmist’s prayer is that the Lord will cause them to perish in disgrace.

Edom, Moab, and Ammon are also mentioned in a prophecy from Daniel 11:41. Speaking of the Antichrist and his end times conquest of the Middle East, Daniel said, “He will also invade the Beautiful Land. Many countries will fall, but Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from his hand.”

The Beautiful Land is Israel, and the timing of this prophecy is during the Great Tribulation. The fact that Edom, Moab and the leaders of Ammon will be delivered from the Antichrist’s hand indicates he will have intended to conquer them but will be unable to do so. Based on existing conditions in the world today we would interpret this prophecy as pertaining to Jordan. But this could all change with the Battle of Psalm 83 when Edom, Moab, and Ammon could come under Israel’s control again. Is that what will prevent the Antichrist from conquering them, or is there more to it?

Rev. 12:13-17 tells us that after Satan is confined to Earth he will go after “the woman”, symbolic of Israel. But the woman will be given the wings of a great eagle, enabling her to flee into the desert to a place prepared for her, where she will be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, which is 3 ½ years, the duration of the Great Tribulation. This agrees with Matt. 24:15-21 where the Lord warned the believing remnant of Israel to flee to the mountains to escape the Great Tribulation. The closest mountains to Jerusalem are in Moab and Edom.

And concerning the time of the 2nd Coming, Isaiah wrote;

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength?

“It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.”

Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?

“I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing. It was for me the day of vengeance; the year for me to redeem had come.

I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm achieved salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me. I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground” (Isaiah 63:1-6).

Bozrah was the capitol of Edom. The name can mean either sheepfold or fortress. It’s often associated with the abandoned city of Petra, which is only twenty miles away.

Combining these prophecies we have the Antichrist, now indwelt by Satan, determined to rid the world of God’s people once and for all. Heeding the Lord’s 2,000 year old warning, the believing remnant will flee to the mountains of Edom where the city of Petra has been standing empty for centuries, as if in preparation.

The phrase “wings of a great eagle” in Rev. 12:14 is reminiscent of Exodus 19:4 where the Lord used the same phrase to describe the way he delivered Israel from the Egyptians. This implies the same kind of supernatural assistance, such as when Satan spews out a river of water to sweep the woman away. But the Lord will open the earth to swallow the river and save the woman. This will enrage Satan, but he will leave the woman and go after other followers of Jesus (Rev. 12:15-17).

This helps us understand how Edom, Moab, and Ammon could escape the clutches of the Anti-christ. The Lord has chosen Petra as the city of refuge where He will protect His people throughout the Great Tribulation. In doing so, He will make sure the whole area stays out of the hands of His enemy. It also explains why, when He returns, He will first go to Edom to clear the way for His people to return to Jerusalem (Isaiah 63:1-6).

Edom, Moab, and Ammon in the Millennium

On several of our visits to Israel we crossed into Jordan near Jericho. We used its capital city, Amman, as our headquarters, from which we visited other parts of the country. Amman is a modern city of 4 million inhabitants that we always found to be very hospitable.

Our various destinations always included the ruins of Jerash (Gerasa). It was a prominent city of the Decapolis in the Lord’s time (Matt. 4:25), and is located about 30 miles north of Amman. Traveling through the ancient land of the Ammonites, we found it to be quite beautiful in places, with green valleys and numerous villages.

We always spent a day in Petra, as well. We traveled south from Amman down the eastern side of the Dead Sea, through ancient Moab and into Edom. As we journeyed south we soon found ourselves in desert country, but it’s still far from being a wasteland. The highway was wide and well maintained, with light to moderate traffic in both directions, and we passed through several villages with pleasant rest stops before reaching Petra.

But all that will change in the day God brings His vengeance on the lands east of the Jordan river and south of Israel. When He’s finished with them, Moab and Ammon will resemble Sodom and Gomorrah.

“I have heard the insults of Moab and the taunts of the Ammonites, who insulted my people and made threats against their land. Therefore, as surely as I live,” declares the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel,“surely Moab will become like Sodom, the Ammonites like Gomorrah—a place of weeds and salt pits, a wasteland forever. The remnant of my people will plunder them; the survivors of my nation will inherit their land” (Zeph. 2:8-9).

Here’s another hint that Moab and Ammon will yet fall back under the control of Israel.

And Edom will receive an extra portion of the Lord’s wrath.

“My sword has drunk its fill in the heavens; see, it descends in judgment on Edom, the people I have totally destroyed. The sword of the Lord is bathed in blood, it is covered with fat—the blood of lambs and goats, fat from the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah and a great slaughter in the land of Edom. And the wild oxen will fall with them, the bull calves and the great bulls. Their land will be drenched with blood, and the dust will be soaked with fat.

For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause. Edom’s streams will be turned into pitch, her dust into burning sulfur; her land will become blazing pitch! It will not be quenched night or day; its smoke will rise forever. From generation to generation it will lie desolate; no one will ever pass through it again. The desert owl and screech owl will possess it; the great owl and the raven will nest there. God will stretch out over Edom the measuring line of chaos and the plumb line of desolation” (Isaiah 34:5-11).

Isaiah’s descriptive language calls up images of hell itself and has led more than one commentator to suggest Edom as the location of the Lake of Fire, where the unbelievers of all ages will spend eternity in torment.

From the above we can see that it won’t be out of any consideration for Edom, Moab, and Ammon that God will protect them from the Antichrist, but out of a need to preserve the believing remnant of Israel. After the 2nd Coming the homelands of these three antagonists of Israel will become desolate wastelands forever.

Edom, Moab, and Ammon stand as witnesses to the terrible end that comes to countries who take their stand against God and His people. It truly is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God (Hebrews 10:31).

Jan 27, 2015 Is Israel’s prime minister Netanyahu US speech on Iran a political move to win his election?

It is obvious that this move by Netanyahu and the Republicans in the House and Senate  has caused a stir and controversy in both nations.

In play here is the perceived threat that a nuclear Iran presents to Israel, the USA and the world. This is not a small matter or a political ploy by one party or the other in either Israel or the USA. The threat is real and Iran’s actions and support of armed shia terrorists is well documented as it is their pursuit of nuclear weapons, missiles and all sort of weapons. Their intentions are to conquer the world and submit it to the false god Allah. In their eschatology the think this will come about after the great destruction and killing of the majority of the world.

It is complete ignorance or pure evil to ignore these facts that they announce so openly to all their followers. Among their evil thinking is the need to warn their intended victims prior to striking with the intent of coercing a capitulation without a fight so that is the modus operandy of all terrorist.

The acceptance to speak to the joint sessions of Congress is an opportunity to bring his case against Iran to the Legislative branch of the USA, both Democrats and Republicans. It is inconceivable that Netanyahu would risk alienating the President of the USA no matter how bad his relations are with him in a personal way.

The PM is well aware of all the duplicitous behind the scenes maneuvers of this snake salesman that is not working for the welfare of Israel or of the US. It is inconceivable that a man in the position of Obama could act with ignorance of the facts shown by Iran so the conclusion has to be that they both have the same objective against Israel and the US and that his acts are evil beyond measure.

Because this is a prophecy related article I will point out that Obama is in my opinion the man so described in the following places:

Daniel 11:31-39

The Tyranny of the Western King

30For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant. 31And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. 32And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. 33And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. 34Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. 35And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

36And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. 39Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

Rev 13

The Beast Out of the Sea

1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. 6And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

From those two scriptures you can get a preliminary idea of the evil behind Obama.

I will pray for you Netanyahu and for Israel so that their eyes can be open and see the true nature of Obama.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is facing growing criticism in Israel for a planned speech to the U.S. Congress about Iran, accused by his political rivals of damaging ties with Washington to promote his election campaign.

Netanyahu accepted an invitation from House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to address a joint session of Congress on March 3, two weeks before the Israeli elections.

The invitation was not coordinated with the White House and it was widely seen as a Republican attempt to enlist Netanyahu, who advocates tougher measures against Iran, in the dispute with President Barack Obama over whether to impose new sanctions on Iran.

In Israel, critics have characterized Netanyahu’s trip as an election ploy and a slap in the face of the Obama administration after it’s worked hard to deflect challenges to Israel at the United Nations and most recently at the International Criminal Court.

Israeli media have highlighted the White House announcement that Obama would not meet with Netanyahu during his visit, calling it a sign that Netanyahu’s strained relationship with the president had sunk to a new low.

“Losing America,” said a headline Monday in the mass circulation daily newspaper Yediot Ahronot, which also highlighted criticism of Netanyahu’s move on the Fox News network, usually a staunch supporter of the prime minister.

Media reports describe American officials as infuriated by Netanyahu’s conduct, portraying it as part of a pattern of cultivating relations with conservative members of Congress to gain leverage against Obama.

Netanyahu and Obama have publicly disagreed over policies toward the Palestinians and Iran. But Netanyahu’s planned address to Congress has taken matters to a new level, commentators said.

In an “unprecedented deal,” Republican lawmakers were “helping Netanyahu defeat his rivals here, and he is helping them humiliate their rival there,” wrote Nahum Barnea, a columnist for Yediot Ahronot. “It’s dangerous, it’s toxic and it’s not so funny anymore.”

Netanyahu pledged Sunday that he’d “go anywhere I am invited” to warn against the dangers of the Iranian nuclear program and a potential deal with Western powers that he said could leave Iran “a nuclear threshold state.”

But the prime minister’s rivals in the election campaign accuse him of alienating Obama and damaging Israel’s strategic alliance with Washington.

“Netanyahu is directly hurting the president of the United States,” Yitzhak Herzog, head of the opposition Labor party, told Army Radio on Sunday. His joint slate with Tzipi Livni, a former justice minister, is running neck-and-neck with Netanyahu’s Likud party, according to recent polls.

“What Netanyahu is doing with this brutish behavior is harming Israel’s security interests,” Herzog added. “The American political system can’t stand this behavior.”

Yair Lapid, a former finance minister who heads Yesh Atid, a centrist party, accused Netanyahu of “destroying our strategic relations with the United States for an election speech.”

Zehava Galon, leader of the leftist Meretz party, filed an appeal to the head of the Israeli election commission, demanding that it bar live broadcasts of Netanyahu’s address to Congress. Under Israeli election laws, campaign messages are prohibited on radio and television starting two weeks before the vote.

Michael Oren, Israel’s previous ambassador to the United States, joined the chorus of criticism Saturday, urging Netanyahu to cancel his planned speech.

Running for Parliament with a new party, Kulanu, Oren said Netanyahu’s conduct had “created the impression that this is a cynical political move, and it could hurt our efforts to act against Iran.”

Jan 24, 2015 More info on Saudi-Yemen developments

This is unfolding as we write and the repercussions on the geo-politics of the area  could be significant.

Iran exerts a strong influence in Yemen through the Houthis.

Yemen has highway N2 that goes through the coast of the Red Sea  to tie to highway 5 in Saudi Arabia that leads to Mecca and Medina. Iran could use their Houthi proxies to attack these two cities. See map link.,35.5707789,5z

The Red Sea narrows to less than 20 miles on the shores of Yemen and a hostile nations could be a threat to the ships that transit the Red Sea.

The article below gives us more insight in the complex and dangerous situation that is developing in this troubled area.

‘Worst-case scenario’: Yemen chaos, Saudi king’s death pose new challenges for US

The collapse of the Yemeni government, coupled with the death early Friday of Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah, have in an instant thrown the future of America’s fight against Islamist extremists in the volatile region into question — while potentially giving Iran more sway.

The Obama administration is still assessing the political earthquakes in the Arabian Peninsula, and for the near-term says the top priority in Yemen is the security of U.S. personnel. The State Department said it has reduced the number of personnel at the U.S. Embassy in the capital city of Sanaa.

But when the sands settle, a new government – or no government at all – in Yemen could complicate one of the administration’s most active counterterror drone programs in the world. And the new leadership in Saudi Arabia raises questions about the country’s future involvement in fighting the Islamic State and other pressing issues.

Further, a former U.S. diplomat close to the Saudi royal family told Fox News the two developments, which occurred within hours of each other, represent a “worst-case scenario” for the U.S. in terms of Iran’s ability to extend its influence.

With the collapse of Yemen’s government, the former diplomat said Tehran’s influence is now seen in at least four Middle Eastern capitals – Sanaa in Yemen, Baghdad in Iraq, Damascus in Syria, and to a lesser extent Beirut in Lebanon.

Saudi Arabia has long been a key U.S. ally, and a bulwark against Iran’s reach. Given the line of succession – the king’s half-brother Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud has replaced him – the former diplomat did not expect major policy changes in the short-term. But the source added the Saudi policy on Yemen has not been clear since 2009, and the diplomat even anticipated a softer stance from the Kingdom on Syria, where the late king committed Saudi airpower to fighting the Islamic State.

King Abdullah’s death may also open up a bigger power vacuum in Riyadh than first believed. The Wall Street Journal reported that U.S. officials do not consider the 79-year-old Salman to be a strong or healthy ruler in his own right, which raises the possibility that others in the royal family could come to the forefront.

Most immediately, the Obama administration faces a critical challenge in Yemen, where President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, a U.S. ally, resigned Thursday after being held captive by Houthi rebels.

Yemen has allowed the United States to wage one of its most robust counterterror drone strike operations in the world, largely targeting Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula operatives – the same group that claimed credit for the Paris terror attacks.

Last September, when he spoke about his strategy to fight the Islamic State, President Obama cited counterterror programs in Yemen and Somalia as success stories. In his State of the Union address on Tuesday, he said, “We’re partnering with nations from South Asia to North Africa to deny safe haven to terrorists who threaten America.”

But the Yemen partnership is now in question. A former Pentagon official said the unraveling of security conditions in Yemen was well-understood within the intelligence community and there were strong indicators as early as September that the country was on an accelerated downward spiral.

The official indicated there are no guarantees a Yemen government under new control would honor the agreements made with the U.S. government which allow for the CIA and military to launch drone strikes.

Asked Friday about the chaos in Yemen, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the administration is “committed” to the counterterrorism strategy against AQAP, which he said is probably the most dangerous Al Qaeda affiliate.

He also claimed it’s not clear that Iran is “exerting any kind of command and control” over the rebels in Yemen, despite their ties.

As for Saudi Arabia, Earnest said Obama hopes to speak with the new king in the coming days and expects a “strong relationship … will endure under the leadership of the new king.”

Meanwhile, former U.S. diplomat Dennis Ross told The Wall Street Journal that with the death of King Abdullah, decision-making in Riyadh is likely to be more cautious on issues like Iran and Syria.

Abdullah, a Sunni Arab, made one of the main priorities of his rule countering mainly Shiite Iran whenever it tried to make advances in the region. He also backed Sunni factions against Tehran’s allies in several countries, but in Lebanon, for example, the policy failed to stop Iranian-backed Hezbollah from gaining the upper hand.

Citing Saudi officials, the paper reports that King Abdullah became less fond of the U.S. in the final years of his reign. The king repeatedly pushed Obama to lend stronger backing to the rebels against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, against whom he bore a personal animus, and was reportedly furious when airstrikes threatened against Damascus by Obama in the summer of 2013 did not come to pass.

The officials also said that the late king took a dim view of ongoing talks between the U.S. and Iran over the latter nation’s nascent nuclear program, seeing it as a sign that Washington was more than willing to work behind its ally’s back.

Among the other decisions facing Salman is whether he will continue the country’s ongoing strategy of increased levels of oil production. The country produced 9.6 million barrels a day in January, according to Platts, the energy information division of McGraw Hill. That’s enough to satisfy 11 percent of global demand, despite a global price drop of nearly 60 percent since June.

The price of U.S. crude was up 88 cents, or 1.9 percent, to $47.19 a barrel in after-hours trading Thursday.

Fox News’ Catherine Herridge and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Jan 23, 2015 Jonathan Cahn’s talks about Obama’s speech

Reality is one thing, but Obama’s speech is a fairy tale. The price of oil is in the mid 40’s and it is driving the economies of powerful nations to the ground. These nations could think that they want to retaliate in kind. Oil is driving the new shale oil production to a stand still in the USA and most economic news is that it will have a very negative effect on our economy in the long run.

Well Jonathan Cahn is right to say that based on the Harbingers and the year of the Shemitah which we are in, the truth is the opposite.

Serious difficult times are in the near future and this is the opposite of what Obama said.

President Obama delivering the 2015 State of the Union address

President Obama delivering the 2015 State of the Union address

President Obama’s state of the union address was loaded with sweet delights meant to bedazzle America’s long-suffering middle class as he signaled economic prosperity for all is waiting just around the corner.

But the author of a New York Times-best-selling book about America’s future in a post-Christian society was not impressed.

He sees dark storm clouds closing in on Obama’s rays of sunshine, citing “harbingers” that the country is sliding headlong toward a collapse – with blindfolds securely fastened.

“Listening to the president’s State of the Union address, I was reminded of ancient Israel,” said Jonathan Cahn, author of “The Mystery of the Shemitah” and “The Harbinger,” which draws parallels between America’s falling away from God and a series of judgments that will come as a result.

Jonathan Cahn

Jonathan Cahn

“The people (of Israel) convinced themselves that they were coming back stronger than before,” Cahn told WND. “And then it all collapsed, and the judgment came.”

Cahn sees warning signs of potential judgment coming to America as the current Shemitah year nears the halfway point.

The Shemitah comes once every seven years. In biblical Israel it brought a canceling of debts, a resting of the land from sowing and reaping, and a resetting of financial accounts. The seven-year Shemitah cycle was meant as a blessing as long as the Israelites followed God and observed his ways, but it could manifest as judgment if the nation turned to its own devices and removed God from its culture and legal system.

The specific avenues of potential judgment Cahn is watching are the economy and the rise of ISIS as a new terrorist threat to America. The last two Shemitah years — 2000-2001 and 2007-2008 — brought the 9/11 attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and the historic stock market crash of September 2008.

Notably missing from Obama’s speech was any mention of radical Islam or Islamic terrorism, even as the issue has taken center stage in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attacks in France and subsequent arrests of militants in France, Belgium and Germany.

Check out all of Jonathan Cahn’s ground-breaking teachings for modern-day America including “The Mystery of the Shemitah” and “The Harbinger,” as well as WND’s documentary “The Isaiah 9:10 Judgment.”

Taking a back seat to China?

Cahn speaks of the American age that began in 1871 when the U.S. surpassed Britain to become the strongest economic power on earth.

“I’ve warned in ‘The Harbinger’ and as I’ve spoken across the country that if this nation doesn’t return to God, its crown as head of nations will be removed,” he said.

Two weeks into the Shemitah year, which began in Sept. 25, 2014, Cahn said the first sign of America’s removal as the pinnacle of economic power was already apparent to those who were paying attention.

The American age that began more than 140 years ago, quietly came to an end.

According to a report by the International Monetary Fund, China’s economy had for the first time surpassed that of the United States and now claims the distinction of being the world’s largest economy, according to an October report by Business Insider.

“America’s crown as the strongest economic power on earth was removed. It passed to China,” Cahn said. “The word Shemitah can mean ‘the fall.’ That alone would constitute one of the greatest falls in modern history – the end of the American age.”

The IMF measures both GDP in market-exchange terms and in terms of purchasing power, reported Business Insider.

“On the purchasing-power basis, China is overtaking the US right about now and becoming the world’s biggest economy,” BI reported on Oct. 8, 2014. “By the end of 2014, China will make up 16.48 percent of the world’s purchasing-power adjusted GDP (or $17.632 trillion), and the U.S. will make up just 16.28 percent (or $17.416 trillion).”

Marriage case on docket, terrorists lying in wait

As the year of the Shemitah grinds toward its climax on Sept. 13, 2015, Cahn is also watching the Supreme Court.

“The harbingers have continued to manifest and America’s apostasy from God has only accelerated. In April of this year, in the midst of the Shemitah, the Supreme Court will hear a case that will likely end marriage as we know it,” Cahn said. “The verdict will be released in June. That will mark a critical point in America’s fall from God.”

Another one of the harbingers is that of the terrorist has resurfaced in the form of ISIS, he said.

“The judgment and destruction of Israel was carried out by the Assyrians, the fathers of terrorism,” Cahn said. “The emergence of ISIS and its conflict with America is ominous.”

As for the economy, destabilization in the currency markets and disruptive oil markets are creating a springboard for turbulent times ahead.

Whether America’s economic judgment comes with a sudden, painful jolt or as a slow, grinding down until it becomes subservient to other nations, remains to be seen. But either way, the messianic Jewish rabbi from New Jersey believes America will be knocked off its perch atop the world order, especially economically, if widespread repentance does not occur.

“There’s an eerie kind of unease,” he said. “The stock market has been hit by strange waves of volatility and violent swings. And it actually began the very first week of the Shemitah.

“I believe we’re watching a house of cards. It could implode at any time.”

For sure, Cahn is not the only one one who sees hard times ahead for America.

Shell shocked by oil, currency ploys

Two “black swan events” have financial experts reassessing their forecasts.

One is the falling price of crude oil and its corrosive effect on Russia’s economy. The other is Switzerland deciding last week to decouple the Swiss franc from the Euro, resulting in billions of dollars in losses for large banks and currency traders.

The oil price shock started out with most economists predicting a short-term “blip” that would quickly reverse course, only to see prices further plummet with no end in sight.

That is driving economic indicators and propelling economies in directions not previously forecast.

Russia, for instance, is under extreme pressure, as is Iran and Venezuela. Saudi Arabia stands to gain market share at the expense of Russia and the burgeoning U.S. shale-oil industry.

The United States meanwhile continues to chug along with low interest rates and what some analysts see as a bloated stock market ripe for a fall.

Michael Snyder, who writes the Economic Collapse blog, put it this way in a recent article:

“As I have written about previously, we are moving into a time of greatly increased financial volatility. And when we start to see tremendous ups and downs in the financial world, that is a sign that a great crash is coming. We witnessed this prior to the financial crisis of 2008, and now we are watching it happen again.

“And this is not just happening in the United States.”

Chinese shares plunged about 8 percent Monday after the country’s securities regulator imposed margin trading curbs on several major brokerages, a sign that authorities are trying to rein in the market’s big gains, Snyder reported. It was China’s largest drop in six years.

“Sadly, most Americans have absolutely no idea what is coming.
They just trust that Barack Obama, Congress and the ‘experts’ at the Federal Reserve have it all figured out.

“So when the next great financial crisis does arrive, most people are going to be absolutely blindsided by it, even though anyone that is willing to look at the facts honestly should be able to see it steamrolling directly toward us.”

Snyder concluded that the relative stability experienced over the past couple of years is about to come to an unexpected halt.

“I hope that you are getting ready for what comes next,” Snyder told his readers.

Snyder posted another article in which he postulates that the price of copper, which recently hit five-year lows, is a leading indicator for a stock market crash.

China is the world’s biggest buyer of copper and it has cut back drastically on its consumption as its economy has slowed. This could push back a Fed rate hike and impact the U.S. economy, CNBC reported on Jan. 15.

Shock waves across oil country

An unexplainable, lightning-swift fall in the price of crude oil over the past month has left Texas and other oil-producing states, which had been among the few growth spots and success stories in the U.S. economy in recent years, poised for a dramatic shift in fortunes. Hundreds of layoffs could soon be in the offing and in fact have already started, according to an article in the Washington Times.

Henry Resources President Danny Campbell says the company will cut activity by up to 40 percent.

“We’re not cutting back in one area, we’re cutting across the board,” he told the Midland Reporter-Telegram, adding that no one had expected prices to fall so low and so quickly.

Jan 23, 2015 Saudi King Abdullah Dies, President of Yemen Resigns

These two news which have both taken place this week have the potential of changing the dynamics of the middle east in a profound way. In Yemen first the Houthi Shia sect deposed the president and took control of the nation. This tribe under the auspices of Iran had been attacking Saudi Arabia from the South-West part of the peninsula. Their consolidation of power makes it easier to link to forces from Iran in their coordinated future attacks to the Saudi Kingdom. It is not certain that they will cooperate with the USA to attack Al Qaeda in Yemen although they are rabid enemies.

The two interviews above will give the readers ample information about the dynamics going on in the Arabian peninsula and the two Islamic religions involved.

The next article is about the death of the King and the power strugle that is in play in the Kingdom at a time it is under extreme duress due to oil prices and their Shia enemies at the door.

A Saudi Palace Coup

Posted: 01/23/2015 8:22 am EST Updated: 01/23/2015 9:59 am EST

King Abdullah’s writ lasted all of 12 hours. Within that period the Sudairis, a rich and politically powerful clan within the House of Saud, which had been weakened by the late king, burst back into prominence. They produced a palace coup in all but name.

Salman moved swiftly to undo the work of his half-brother. He decided not to change his crown prince Megren, who was picked by King Abdullah for him, but he may choose to deal with him later. However, he swiftly appointed another leading figure from the Sudairi clan. Mohammed Bin Nayef, the interior minister is to be his deputy crown prince. It is no secret that Abdullah wanted his son Meteb for that position, but now he is out.

More significantly, Salman, himself a Sudairi, attempted to secure the second generation by giving his 35- year old son Mohammed the powerful fiefdom of the defense ministry. The second post Mohammed got was arguably more important. He is now general secretary of the Royal Court. All these changes were announced before Abdullah was even buried.

The general secretaryship was the position held by the Cardinal Richelieu of Abdullah’s royal court, Khalid al-Tuwaijri. It was a lucrative business handed down from father to son and started by Abdul Aziz al Tuwaijri. The Tuwaijris became the king’s gatekeepers and no royal audience could be held without their permission, involvement, or knowledge. Tuwaijri was the key player in foreign intrigues — to subvert the Egyptian revolution, to send in the troops to crush the uprising in Bahrain, to finance ISIL in Syria in the early stages of the civil war along his previous ally Prince Bandar bin Sultan.

The link between Tuwaijri and the Gulf region’s fellow neo-con Mohammed bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, was close. Tuwaijri is now out, and his long list of foreign clients, starting with the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi may well feel a cooler wind blowing from Riyadh. Sisi failed to attend the funeral on Friday. Just a question of bad weather?

Salman’s state of health is cause for concern, which is why the power he has given his son is more significant than other appointments announced. Aged 79, Salman is known to have Alzheimers, but the exact state of his dementia is a source of speculation. He is known to have held cogent conversations as recently as last October. But he can also forget what he said minutes ago, or faces he has known all his life, according to other witnesses. This is typical of the disease. I understand the number of hospital visits in the last few months has increased, and that he did not walk around, as he did before.

So his ability to steer the ship of state, in a centralized country where no institutions, political parties or even national politics exist, is open to question. But one indication of a change of direction may lie in two attempts recently to establish links with Egyptian opposition figures.

I am told that senior advisers to Salman approached an Egyptian liberal opposition politician and had a separate meeting with a lawyer. Neither of them are members of the Muslim Brotherhood but have working contacts with it. Talks were held in Saudi Arabia in the last two months about how reconciliation could be managed. No initiative was agreed, but the talks themselves were an indication of a more pragmatic, or less belligerent, approach by Salman and his advisers. It was understood that these meetings were preparatory to a possible initiative Salman may announce once he was in power.

The policy of the late King was to declare the Brotherhood terrorist organization on a par with the Islamic State and al Qaeda.

Even before the Sudairis made their move, a power struggle within the House of Saud was apparent. Early on Thursday evening, rumors on Twitter that the king was dead flooded the Internet, which is the primary source of political information in the kingdom. There were official denials, when a Saudi journalist on al Watan newspaper tweeted the information.

The palace’s hand was forced when two emirs tweeted that the king was dead. MBC TV network cut broadcasting and put the Koran on screen, a sign of mourning, while national television kept on with normal programming. This was a sign that one clan in the royal family wanted the news out quickly and the other clan was stalling for more negotiations.

The need for a change of course is all too apparent. On the very night in which the royal drama was taking place, a political earthquake was underway in Saudi Arabia’s backyard, Yemen. President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, his prime minister and government resigned after days of virtual house arrest by Houthi militia. Hadi’s resignation leaves two forces in control of the country both of them armed to the teeth: an Iranian backed militia which gets its training from Hezbollah, and al Qaeda, posing as the defender of Sunni muslims.

It is a disaster for Saudi Arabia and what is left of the ability of the Gulf Cooperation Council to make any deal stick. Their foreign ministers met only the day before. Yemen’s former strongman Ali Abdullah Saleh, who was levered out of power three years ago and who according to leaked telephone calls, advised the Houthis on how to grab power, is now calling for fresh elections, and there were already calls on Thursday night for the south to split away from the North. Yemen, in other words, has officially become the Middle East’s fourth failed state.

The meteoric rise of the Houthis in Yemen was not the result of spontaneous combustion. It was planned and plotted months ago by Saleh and the United Arab Emirates. Saleh’s son, the Yemeni ambassador to the UAE, was a key figure in this foreign intrigue, and as I reported before, he met an Iranian delegation in Rome. This was picked by US intelligence and communicated to Hadi. The year before, the then Saudi intelligence chief Prince Bandar flew a leading member of the Houthi delegation via London for a meeting. Incredible as it seemed, the Saudis were re-opening contact with an Iranian backed Zaydi or Shia sect with whom they had once fought bitter wars.

The Saudi/Emirati plan was to use the Houthis to engage and destroy their real target, which was Islah, the Islamist party and chief representative of the Sunni tribes in Yemen. As elsewhere in the Arab world, the entire focus of Abdullah foreign policy after 2011, was to stop the Arab spring in its tracks in Tunisia and Egypt and crush all forces capable of mounting an effective opposition in the Gulf States. Everything else, including the rise of Saudi’s foremost regional rival Iran, became subservient to that paramount aim to crush democratic political Islam.

The Yemen plan backfired when Islah refused to take up arms to resist the Houthi advance. As a result, the Houthis took more control than they were expected to, and the result is that Yemen stands on the brink of civil war. Al Qaeda’s claim to be the only fighters prepared to defend Sunni tribesmen, has just been given a major boost.

It is too early to tell whether King Salman is capable of, or even is aware of the need for changing course. All one can say with any confidence is that some of the key figures who stage-managed the Kingdom’s disastrous foreign intrigues are now out. Meteb’s influence is limited, while Tuwaijiri is out.

It is in no-one’s interests for chaos to spread into the Kingdom itself. Maybe it is just coincidence that Abdullah died almost on the eve of the anniversary of the January 25 revolution in Egypt. But the timing of his death is a symbol. The royal family should learn that the mood of change, that started on January 25 is unstoppable. The best defense against revolution is to lead genuine tangible political reform within the Kingdom. Allow it to modernize, to build national politics, political parties, real competitive elections, to let Saudis take a greater share of power, to free political prisoners.

There are two theories about the slow train crash which the Middle East has become. One is that dictatorship, autocracy, and occupation are the bulwarks against the swirling chaos of civil war and population displacement. The other is that dictators are the cause of instability and extremism.

Abdullah was evidence in chief for the second theory. His reign left Saudi Arabia weaker internally and surrounded by enemies as never before. Can Salman make a difference ? It’s a big task, but there may be people around him who see the need for a fundamental change in course. It will be the only way a Saudi King will get the backing of his people. He may in the process turn himself into a figurehead, a constitutional monarch, but he will generate stability in the kingdom and the region.

JAN 20, 2015 Islam and the Rapture of the Church by Pastor Faraq

In last weeks prophecy update pastor Faraq talks and explains what true Islam is all about.

He attributes Obama and the president of France as being deceived by the propaganda that Islam is a peaceful religion, but in my opinion there is no deception but willful malice and evil in their statements.

He makes a very astute observation towards the end of the 30 minutes about the Lord allowing believers to experience things going wrong for the purpose of bringing their focus on the things to come versus the things here on earth.

Jan 19, 2015 Latest search for the Nephilim archeology

L.A. Marzulli keeps digging and researching this interesting and obscure area of archeology where the powers that be in the field have purposely hidden all the information that had been discovered in the past to avoid a challenge to the theory of evolution.

As science advances it becomes more difficult for the information to be hidden and this is the case here.

Photos, witnesses, DNA and information technology make it very hard to hide the truth, but they keep trying.

Thanks to Gary Stearman for bringing this up for us to see.
