July 16, 2017 Are Jesus Commandments equal to the ten Commandments?

leave a comment »

This is an introduction to the excellent study done by Pastor FM Riley about the commandments of the Lord.

Yes we are living in the last days and the time is very short for the coming of Jesus at the Rapture.

One question that is important for every living person to ask is what happens when we die. There are many answers that man have come up with to this question and all of them are wrong except one. It is the most important question that any person needs to answer correctly.

The answer to this question is only found in the Bible, not in the Qumran, the BahaVagitta, Greek philosophy or the myriad religions and writings of man.

Every single person alive is lost and needs salvation and this salvation can only be found in the belief that Jesus Christ came to this world to give His live in lieu of ours. By His death at the cross He paid and satisfied God’s  Justice and the penalty imposed of death, both physical and spiritual, for the sins or transgressions of every one of us.

May you read these words and dig deeply in the Word to find the thruth that the world is hiding from everyone.

The Commandments of Christ!

The Importance of Keeping
The Commandments of Christ!
By Pastor F. M. Riley
July 14, 2017
“If you love Me, keep My commandments,” John 14:15.

“He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him,” John 14:21.

“If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
This is My commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you,” John 15:10-12.
Introduction
How many sermons have you heard lately on the subject of “the commandments of Christ?”  D-u-h-h!   That what I thought!  I haven’t heard a preacher preach about or emphasize the commandments of Christ in years.  Maybe this is one reason why the churches and the ranks of Christianity today are in such a state of apostasy [falling away], and there is such a lack of true Christian love among those who “profess” to be God’s people.  Well…??
The Lord Jesus Christ Himself made it quite clear in these Scriptures that the believers who truly love the Lord, and who frequently experience the Father’s love for them, are those who “keep My commandments,” John 14:21.
And…..those believers who continue to “abide” in the love of the Lord, and in whom the “joy” of the Lord “remains,” and is “full,” are those believers who “keep My commandments,” John 15:10-11.
Since this is the case, plainly stated by the Lord Himself, then why do we seldom ever hear preachers preaching on and emphasizing the “commandments of Christ?”  Is it possible that many preachers today don’t even know what the “commandments of Christ” are?  Could that be the case?    Well…??
Now our readers should know  what this study is about.
A Clear Distinction
I want every reader to be aware that in speaking about the “commandments of Christ,”  I am not referring to the Ten Commandments, or the Law, given to the nation and people of Israel.  If one is “rightly dividing the Word of Truth,” they will pay attention to the context of Scripture, and see who is being spoken to in any given passage.  Christ Jesus was not addressing the nation and people of Israel here in John 14 – 15.  He was clearly speaking to His New Testament [Covenant] Church and disciples.
Indeed there were Laws and commandments given to Old Testament Israel and the Jewish people as they lived under the Old Covenant of Law.  But there were also commandments given to the Lord’s Church and people who live under the New Covenant of God’s GRACE in Christ.
These are two completely different dispensations of time, and two different peoples.   The two sets of commandments are not the same, are quite distinct from each other, and should never be mixed together by true believers living today.
A Clear Statement
The Apostle Paul is explicitly stated in the inspired Word to be God’s chosen Apostle to the Gentiles, Acts 9:1-15.  Then in the writings of Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:37, we read, “If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.”
In the past, I have been asked by some who wanted to quibble, where we can find the “commandments of the Lord?”  They have told me that we know exactly where to go in God’s Word to find the Ten Commandments given to Israel, but where are the “commandments of the Lord?”  Folks, do you believe in the Divine Inspiration of God’s Word?  If you really do,  then you should have no problem believing Paul’s statement.
It is explicitly stated that Paul’s writings “…..are the commandments of the Lord” for all New Covenant believers.  Now receive this truth!
One Vitally Important Commandment
Now that the foundation for this study has been laid, I want to point out and emphasize in this study, just one of the Lord’s  “commandments” as set forth in the writings of the Apostle Paul…….
In Paul’s writings to the young preacher, Timothy, the Apostle Paul wrote…..
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth,” 2 Timothy 2:15.
Dear readers, this is not simply the commandment of the Apostle Paul to the young preacher, Timothy.  Oh no!   According to 1 Corinthians 14:37, this is one of the Lord’s commandments to every true believer who claims to be a part of the Lord’s New Covenant Church and people.  Are you listening?  Then why is this commandment being seriously ignored today by many who “profess” to be God’s people?
Folks, I have been in the Lord’s ministry for now 63 years, and in all of these years I have never previously seen such Biblical illiteracy and outright ignorance of God’s Word among those claiming to be “Christians” as I am seeing today.  Why…??
The Rabbit’s Foot
I am personally convinced that the reason for this ignorance of the Word of God, on the part of “professing” Christian people, is that the Bible has become simply a superstitious relic to many.  Nearly everyone who claims to be a “Christian” wants a copy of the Bible in their home, even if it just sits on a shelf gathering dust.  Of course many still carry a Bible to church services, even if they seldom open it, and pay little attention to what it says.  Like the proverbial, and totally useless, “rabbit’s foot,” a Bible is just nice to have around.  Like the rabbit’s foot, the Bible has become a “good luck” charm.  Sic!
Those true believers who do seriously study the Bible today, know that we are living in “the last days” prophesied by the Lord Jesus Himself, and the prophetic Scriptures clearly predicted that a great “falling way” would come in this very time, 2 Thessalonians 2:3.  Folks, it is here!   We have arrived!  And the serious lack of Bible study on the part of many today who “profess” to be Christians is clear evidence of the “falling away” which has come upon the churches and God’s people.
An Exposition of the Lord’s Command
In order to emphasize the seriousness of the Lord’s “commandments,” as well as the benefits of observing them, let’s just carefully examine the “commandment” of the Lord recorded in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”
[1]   “Study”…..The very first word in this Scripture is the word “study.”  This word is translated from the Greek word, “spoudazo.”  This Greek word literally means, “to be eager, to make every effort, to do one’s best.”  See Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, page 585. Strong’s No. 4704.  Wow!
In other words, if one wants to obey this command of the Lord, they should eagerly be devoting time and effort to the study of God’s Word.  How many are doing this today?
I have actually had “Christian” people tell me that they just don’t have time to read my Bible Studies, or even to study the Bible.  I am made to wonder if such people think they will have time to die, when their “appointed time” comes?  Some folks need a real adjustment to their priorities in life.  Matthew 6:33 is still in the Bible!
I was born to Christian parents, and brought up in a Christian home.  In our home we had regular Bible study and prayer, in addition to what we received when we attended church services.  How often do you see this being practiced in “Christian” homes today?   Well…??
Dear readers, the inspired Word of God is the most wonderful and valuable book on the face of the earth today, and yet it is likely the most neglected book, even in the homes and lives of many who “profess” to be Christians.  And that brings up the next point…..
[2]    “…to shew thyself approved unto God.”   In the Greek text, this expression literally means “to put one’s self on display.”  The Lord Jesus explicitly told His disciples in Acts 1:8, “…..ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”  In other words, every true believer is supposed to display the reality and life of the Lord Jesus Christ in their own life, as they live before others.   There is simply no way to do this, seperate and apart from one’s life being permeated by the serious STUDY of the Word of God. The Apostle Peter said that even when a believer speaks,  they are to speak “…..as the oracles of God,” 1 Peter 4:11.   We might put it this way…..a true believer should be a walking, talking, “witness” of the  Lord Jesus Christ in everything we do and say every day.  When a lost person, for whatever the reason, has dealings with us, they should see the Lord Jesus living in us, and be convinced that we are indeed “approved of God.”
Caution!   We do not study God’s Word to boast about how much we know.  Rather, we should study God’s Word with a grateful and humble heart, thankful for His mercy in revealing Himself to us through His Word.   And it is Christ Jesus who needs to shine forth in our contact with others, who are lost and need the saving grace of the Lord Jesus.
STUDY God’s Word until it becomes obvious to others that the Spirit of the Lord is in you and upon you.  PERIOD!
[3]    “…..a workman that needeth not to be ashamed.”
Notice the word, “workman.”   True, Bible believing, Christianity is not for the lazy.  Every true believer should be a worker.  Someone, in other words, who takes this business of “witnessing” to lost men and women, boys and girls, seriously.  While we believers most certainly are not saved by our works [Ephesians 2:9], yet being a faithful “witness”  requires work, sometimes very hard work.  It takes time and effort, and sometimes money, to get others to come to Christ for salvation.   Is it worth the effort to win one of your own loved ones to Christ?   Be careful how you answer.  The Lord God is listening!  Matthew 12:36-37.
The rest of this statement is, “…that needth not to be ashamed.”  Keep in mind that this is tied into the opening word in the Scripture, “study.”  In other words, when some lost person comes to you, seeking information about God and His Word, as a believer, you should have studied God’s Word enough to  be able to answer their questions.  If you cannot, then you have reason “to be ashamed.”
One of the saddest things I ever heard was a deacon in a Baptist church admitting that a certain lost person had come to him, literally stopping him in the field where he was plowing, and asking him how to be saved?   The deacon’s answer to the man?   He told the man that he did not rightly know what to tell him, but he would speak to his pastor and get back to the man.   When I left that area, that man had never inquired of anyone again about the salvation of his soul.  This just broke my heart, and I prayed earnestly for the man and for the deacon.  Folks, that deacon had good reason to be “ashamed.”
[4]  Today, almost everyone has a theory or opinion about God’s Word, but how many “professing Christians” are able to “rightly divide” the Holy Word, preaching or teaching the Word for what it actually and literally says?
This is the last phrase in this Scripture, “rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  Folks, every statement in the Bible does not apply to you.  Every statement in the Bible does not apply to Israel, or to the Church, or to the time in which we are living.  Correctly sorting out who the Bible is speaking to, what period of time the Bible is referring to, and what the Bible is speaking about, is known as “rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  The inspired Word is “divided” into different time periods for different peoples, deals with different peoples in different ways, and sets forth different plans and purposes which the Lord God wants accomplished by the peoples He is dealing with at certain periods in human history.  No, this is not difficult to sort out and understand.  All it requires is serious diligent STUDY on the part of true believers.
It is also a plainly stated “commandment” of Christ, in His inspired Word.  So why are so many “professing” Christians ignoring or neglecting to obey this “commandment” today?   Well…??
The Parable of the Talents
In Matthew 25:14-30 the Lord Jesus gave what is commonly referred to as “The Parable of the Talents.”  In this parable each of the Lord’s servants was entrusted with the Lord’s “goods,” according to their ability to use them, 25:14-15.  Two of the Lord’s servants faithfully used what the Lord had given them, and were rewarded for their faithfulness.
But one of the servants was afraid [1 John 4:18], and failed to faithfully use what the Lord had entrusted to him.  When the time then came to receive his rewards [the Bema judgment, 2 Corinthians 5:10], that servant was not only “ashamed,” but had taken from him even that which had been entrusted to him, 25:28-30.
I don’t think any true believer wants this to happen to them, yet it easily can.   If a believer refuses to get serious about the STUDY of the Word of God, then there is no way they are going to be the “witness” for Christ, that the Lord intended for each of His people to be.
The principle set forth in an Old Testament passage spoken to Israel, contains a great truth for our readers right here, “…..Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams,” 1 Samuel 15:22.   Selah!
2 Timothy 2:15 sets forth a very clear “commandment” of the Lord God for His people living today.  How many of God’s people today are faithfully obeying this “commandment?”  The choice is up to the reader.  Obey the Lord, or suffer the penalty for your disobedience!

May 7, 2017 The soon coming one world kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ

The whole world of today is involved in a constant struggle to impose a one world government as the elite try to steer the Nations to relinquish their nationalities and into submitting to a one world government under the rule of a dictator whose body is indwell by Satan.

The struggle can be seen in France today who is electing a president and one of the two running is a globalist versus the other a nationalist.

Whatever the outcome of that election the Bible states that eventually Satan will have his say in implanting this infamous one world government that will last seven years and that will be destroyed at the coming of Jesus Christ to set up His glorious Kingdom beautifully described below by FM Riley.

The Glorious Kingdom of Christ: Part Four

The Glorious
Kingdom of Christ
Part Four
Continued from Part Three

By Pastor F. M. Riley
April 15, 2017
“After this manner therefore pray ye:  Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven,”
Matthew 6:9-10.

Introduction
Part Three of this series of studies was brought to a close with Christ Jesus entering the glorious millennial Temple as envisioned by Ezekiel in Ezekiel 43:1-7.  This study will resume where the previous study left off…….
God’s Kingdom on Earth
Christ Jesus entering the Millennial Temple, approximately seven years after the end of the Tribulation period,  will perhaps be the most glorious event in human history since the resurrection of the Lord. This event will usher in the Kingdom of Christ on earth, the most wonderful kingdom which will have ever existed on earth in all the history of mankind.  And it will be the Lord’s answer to the longing in the hearts of His own Jewish people throughout the centuries, and the longing and prayers of New Covenant believers in this present dispensation, for God’s Kingdom and will to be “done in earth, as it is in heaven,” Matthew 6:9-10.  Glory to God!  Praise the Lord!  Hallelujah!
For the first time in human history, there will be a government over mankind that will be totally righteous and incorruptible.  The government will be Christ Jesus Himself as King, ruling over all of mankind upon the earth,  then serving under Christ in every position of authority on earth, will be a true New Covenant believer, one who was once saved by grace, born-again” of the Holy Spirit, resurrected and glorified, and who will therefore be sinless and incorruptible, Daniel 4:3; 7:13-14; 7:18; 7:22; 7:27; Zechariah 14:5; 1 Corinthians 15:49; 15:51-58; Philippians 3:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 3:13; 2 Timothy 2:11-12; Revelation 4:4; 5:8-10; 19:13-15; 20:6; 22:3-5.   Glory to God!
Mankind on the earth will finally have a righteous and just government ruling over them, not for just a “term of office,” but for all eternity.  Praise the Lord!
Dear readers, this will guarantee that the corruption that has inevitably slipped into even the best of human governments in the past,  will never happen again in all of the eternal ages to come.  Glory to God!
The “time element” when Christ will enter the Millennial Temple and begin His reign, will be seven years after the end of the Tribulation period, likely at the beginning of the 8th year.  At that time the earth will have been totally cleansed of every wicked and incorrigible unbeliever [Psalm 37:9-10], of every dead body and bone, and of every man made item that might entice anyone still in their natural body into sin, causing them to turn away from serving the Lord, Matthew 13:41-42.
In essence, what happened to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, causing them to disobey the Lord and bringing the curse of sin upon mankind, will never happen again in all of the eternal ages to come.   From the time the Lord Jesus Christ enters the Millennial Temple to begin His reign, He will be ruling over all earthly kingdoms in absolute righteousness and peace.  Glory to God!
And how will this effect the entire earth and those living upon it?  Let’s go to God’s Word and see…….
GREAT EARTH CHANGES
Topography and Geography…..The land masses of the earth will no longer appear as they do today.  The inspired Word is quite clear that during the Tribulation period, the high towering, snow capped, mountain ranges that we see on the earth today will be shaken down, Psalm 46:2-3; Isaiah 2:12-14; 2:19-21; 41:15; 42:15; 54:10; Jeremiah 4:24; Ezekiel 38:20; Micah 1:4; Nahum 1:5; Habakkuk 3:6.  During this shaking, islands and mountains, and perhaps entire continents, will be moved, Revelation 6:14; 16:20,  This does not mean that there will no longer be any mountains, for there will always be mountains on the earth, but not the extremely high and jagged mountains that we see today.  The debris from the high mountains being shaken down, will literally fill up the deep gashes, canyons, and valleys that are on the earth today, Isaiah 40:4; Luke 3:5.  The surface of the earth will then be mostly gentle rolling hills, absolutely lovely to behold, and just right for the growth of abundant trees, grass, and other vegetation, and for farming and producing the food that redeemed mankind on the earth will need during “the ages to come,” Ephesians 2:7.  The prophetic Scriptures clearly state that the whole earth is going to experience vast changes in topography, geography, and climatic conditions, and become like “the garden of the Lord.” Glory to God!
It appears that the highest mountain left on the earth will then be “the mountain of the Lord’s house,” Mount Zion in Jerusalem, Psalm 2:6; 68:15-16; Isaiah 2:2-3; Micah 4:1-2;  Zechariah 14:10.
Fertility…..The Lord will be preparing the surface of the earth to grow abundant crops to feed those of mankind on the earth still living in their natural bodies.  Oh yes, there will be some redeemed survivors of the Tribulation period, still living on the earth.  Therefore the Lord God will remove the curse that was placed upon the earth after Adam’s sin [Genesis 3:17-18], causing the earth to bring forth abundantly
During the Tribulation period, every volcano on earth will be spewing forth volcanic ash clouds, making terrible living conditions for those left behind on the earth following the rapture.  But Romans 8:28 is still in the Bible, and the Lord does all things well.
Have our readers ever considered that volcanic ash is likely the very best natural fertilizer ever discovered by mankind?  For a year or more after Mt. St. Helens erupted in the state of Washington in 1980, the Washington apples were the largest, sweetest, and juiciest, they had been in years.  I know, for I was pastoring a church there at the time.
Dear readers, we look at the land of Israel today, and it is a dry, arid, desert country, with only a small portion of the land suitable for farming and raising crops.  Even the portion of the land which is farmed today, has to be irrigated in order for the land to produce.  But it was not always this way.
When the Israelites entered the promised land under the leadership of Joshua, it was a land “flowing with milk and honey,” Exodus 3:8; 3:17.  The entire land was covered with trees and abundant vegetation, and the rivers and streams all ran with abundant water.
Probably most of our readers have read the account in Numbers 13,  of Moses sending out men to spy out the land, before the children of Israel entered it.  The inspired Word clearly states that two men cut down “one cluster of grapes,” which was so large and heavy that they had to carry it on a staff between them, 13:23.  That is an example of how fertile the holy land was at that time. But look at it today!  What happened?
The Lord God plainly warned Israel, that if they did not love and serve and obey Him, He would withhold the rains.  Read it for yourself in Deuteronomy 11:16-17.  Israel went into apostasy, and ignored the Lord’s warning, nevertheless the Lord did what He said He would do, 2 Samuel 1:21; 1 Kings 8:35; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.  It is a historical truth that for centuries, Israel received only enough rain to keep the cactus and other desert plants barely alive.  But it is also a truth, that since the re-establishment of Israel as a nation in 1948, the rainfall in Israel has been steadily increasing with the passing years.  Oh, glory to God!  Praise the Lord!
Water…..During the kingdom of Christ, the Lord God will “….cleave the earth with rivers,” Habakkuk 3:9.
“And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall,” Isaiah 30:25.  Every presently dry stream and river bed in Israel will once again flow with water; abundant water for producing the crops the people will need for their ever increasing population.  Read Isaiah 33:21, and 35:6.  Glory to God!
And what will be…..
The Earth’s Response to Such Blessings?
REST…..”The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing,” Isaiah 14:3-7.
When the Lord Jesus Christ sets up His Kingdom on earth, there will be no more wars, no fighting, no rioting, no rebellion and no wickedness allowed to be practiced, and the earth itself will no longer be used to grow noxious plants, from which wicked men produce alcohol and drugs, which cause men today to cheat and lie and fight and make war.  The earth itself will literally be at rest from the sins of mankind.  And this living earth will respond in rejoicing and singing, Isaiah 35:1-2.
PEACE…..”And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many peoples: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more,” Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3.
“For ye [Israel] shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands,” Isaiah 55:12.
Fallen mankind’s solution to every major disagreement between nations and peoples has always been to go to war.  But that kind of reasoning will cease forever as Christ Jesus establishes His Kingdom upon the earth.  Immediate correction to any problem between nations and peoples will be the Lord’s solution, for the Scriptures are quite explicit that He will rule “with a rod of iron,” Revelation 2:27; 12:5; 19:15.  Christ Jesus will only have to speak the Word, and the problem will be solved immediately and peacefully.
VEGETATION…..”The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God,” Isaiah 35:1-2.
“Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off,” Isaiah 55:13.
Today there are vast areas of the earth’s surface which are nothing but desert, unfit for producing food for mankind, animals, or birds, and mostly worthless.  But when Christ establishes His Kingdom all of this will change.  Streams will break forth in the deserts, and the deserts will become fertile and productive, as they begin to produce vegetation and food for the benefit of mankind and all living creatures.
WATER…..”And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall,” Isaiah 30:25.
“Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall the waters break out. and streams in the desert,” Isaiah 35:6.
Fresh water is absolutely necessary to the survival and health of mankind, and all other living creatures.  As I write today, there is great concern among the governments of the world about the depletion and pollution of fresh water sources on the earth.
There is no need for concern about this problem, by those who are true believers in Christ.  Our Lord God knows exactly where the water sources are, and how, and when, to provide the needed water, and He will!  The Scripture reference in Isaiah 30:25 appears to be referring to the time when the battle of Armageddon occurs and all man-made structures on earth are destroyed, at or near the end of the Tribulation period.  If this is correct, then the Lord is going to begin restoring the earth back to prime condition, immediately upon the defeat and destruction of the armies of the anti-christ, and of the incorrigible wicked.  How great is our God and Savior!   Glory to God!
PHYSICAL HEALTH…..”And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity,” Isaiah 33:24.
Don’t fail to notice that sickness in this Scripture,  is clearly related to the “iniquity” of the people of Israel [33:20-22].  When the Lord God forgives their “iniquity,” then they will no longer experience sickness.
“And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more,” Ezekiel 34:29.
“And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat [food], whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat [food],  and the leaf thereof for medicine [healing; health], Ezekiel 47:12.
A careful study of the context in which this latter Scripture occurs will reveal that a stream of “living water” [47:9] will begin flowing from beneath the Millennial Temple; that it will become a great river, and that on each side or bank of the river, “the tree of life,” [Genesis 2:9] will once again be planted by the Lord, and caused to grow and produce fruit.  These trees will bear fruit every month, providing an abundance of extremely nutritious food for the people, and the leaves of the trees will be used for medicine [healing; health].
This will guarantee perfect physical health [and more] for every person who eats the fruit from those trees and drinks the water from that river, but it will also bring them…..
SPIRITUAL HEALTH…..”The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid,” Zephaniah 3:13.
“But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the Lord dwelleth in Zion,” Joel 3:20-21.
Dear readers, even many true believers have never given much thought to how we humans acquired a “sin nature.”  Every human being is presently born with such a “sin nature,” whether they are willing to believe it or not, Psalm 58:3; 14:2-3; 53:3;  Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 7:18.  But how did we get this “sin nature?”   The inspired Word clearly indicates that we living today inherited it from our parents, and they from their parents, etc., all the way back to Adam himself, Romans 5:12.
Folks, when Adam ate of the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil,” [Genesis 2:16-17], in disobedience to the Lord God,  he received physical and spiritual blood poisoning.  Yes, I said “blood poisoning!”   Sin is real, and it is in the blood stream of mankind, passed on in the birth process from father to child,  Romans 5:12.
Our readers should notice, that immediately after Adam had ate the fruit of the forbidden tree, the Lord God took measures to prevent him from having access to “the tree of life,” Genesis 3:22-24.  Notice also that the Lord God Himself clearly stated that eating the fruit from “the tree of life” would cause Adam to “live for ever,” 3:22.
So what does all of this have to do with our “sin nature”?  Everything!
When the Lord Jesus Christ sets up His Kingdom on the earth, the “tree of life” will be restored to the earth, and to access by the survivors of the Tribulation period.  These survivors will be redeemed people still in their natural bodies.
These “trees of life” will first be caused to grow again in the land of Israel, at the foot of the mount on which the Millennial Temple will be built, Ezekiel 47.  So it will be the redeemed of Israel who first have access to eat the fruit from these trees.  God’s principle at work, Romans 1:16.
However, the Scriptures state quite clearly that the Gentile peoples of the earth will be required to come to Israel every year to observe the Feast of Tabernacles, Zechariah 14:16-21.  Therefore, they too will have access to eat the fruit from these “trees of life,” and drink the “living water” from the river flowing from the Millennial Temple.
And what will be the result of eating the fruit from these trees?  The blood stream of both Jew and Gentile will be cleansed, as stated about Judah in Joel 3:20-21.  The “sin nature;” the tendency to sin, presently in the blood stream of mankind, will be cleansed from the blood and flesh of mankind “for ever.”  Therefore there will be no more sin and no more sickness among mankind on the earth.   Glory to God!  Praise the Lord!  Hallelujah!
Conclusion
Dear readers, there is more; much more, about the coming glorious Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ that I want to share with His people, and with lost seeking souls.  What a glorious future the Lord God is preparing for redeemed mankind in “the ages to come,” Ephesians 2:4-7.  And unless the reader is a true believer, saved by faith through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, they will miss it all!  Take heed!
The Lord permitting, I want to write and send out at least one more study in this series.  But I am not physically well!  Like the Apostle of old, I feel in my body that my time of departure is drawing near.  I certainly need the prayers of my brothers and sisters in Christ.  Thank each of you so much.  I do hope and pray that our Lord Jesus comes for us all, before anymore of us have to meet the angel of death.
May our gracious Lord add His blessings to this Bible study.

Dec 11, 2016 Castro’s death and Jonathan Cahn’s proclamation of the Jubilee in Cuba

I was in Cuba at the time that Fidel started his revolution and for my family and friends it was the beginning of a long exile that is still going on.

For the people of Cuba and the world the cancer of Fidel’s communist ideology has and is festering and multiplying throughout the whole world where it is still ingrained and destroying nations and people, as in Venezuela.

Thanks to Denis Hart for such a good article.

The Lord Jesus will reign in the whole world soon.

Will the Son of Man find FIDEL (FAITH) on the Earth?

Will the Son of Man find FIDEL (FAITH) on the Earth?

Luke 18:8  (Amplified)  I tell you that He will defend and avenge them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find [this kind of persistent] FAITH on the Earth?

The passing of Fidel Castro may be far more important as a prophetic signal than we realise!!  During the week I came across a truly remarkable article by Jonathan Cahn on  Cuba on the World Net Daily website (www.wnd.com).  The article is titled The Day Jonathan Cahn Gave a Prophetic Sign to Fidel Castro – the direct link to the article is below:

http://www.wnd.com/2016/12/the-day-jonathan-cahn-gave-a-prophetic-sign-to-fidel-castro/?cat_orig=faith

This article is primarily about a one month opportunity for evangelism in Cuba in 1999, that has had to be hidden until now.  For those Doves who have not seen the article, I strongly recommend reading the full article.  It includes the shofar, the Magi, Jubilee timings for Fidel Castro and a meeting in the presidential palace between Johnathan Cahn and Fidel!  The ashes of Fidel Castro have been laid to rest in the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, with a lone memorial a grey/white boulder and a black plaque engraved simply with FIDEL!

The name FIDEL has the meaning of FAITH (derived from FAITHFUL).  What an amazing example of God’s sovereignty over nations that He causes just one word (FAITH!!) to be written on the grave of one who ruled as a dictator for so long over Cuba.  And the poignant question in Luke 18:8 – will He find Faith on the Earth!!

FIDEL or Faith – one word on the grave of a dictator.

Maranatha!!  Denis

As the ashes of Fidel Castro are now laid to rest in Santiago, Cuba, I am at liberty to tell the story that’s waited years to be told.

In 1999, for the first time since he took power in 1959, Fidel Castro agreed to open up the island of Cuba for the Gospel, under much control and surveillance, and for only one month. By this he would show the world that there was ‘freedom’ in Cuba – an evangelical celebration that would span the island from the east, where Castro’s revolution began, to Revolutionary Square, Havana, where he began his rule.

Word was sent to me to open the celebration with the sounding of the shofar. I agreed.

THE MAGI PROPHECY

One week before leaving, a man from Cuba came to us. He was a pastor who had been imprisoned on the island for his faith. He gave us a strange word. He said we would walk the island of Cuba as the magi, bearing gifts, and we would enter the king’s palace.

We were told we would go to Cuba as the magi, bearing gifts, and enter the palace of the king

We were told we would go to Cuba as the magi, bearing gifts, and enter the palace of the king

I prayed as to what word I should bring to the people of Cuba. What came to me was the message of Jubilee. The Jubilee concerns those who have lost their land, their family’s possession, their freedom. That was Cuba. So I came to Cuba proclaiming the God’s Jubilee, His power to set free those in bondage and to bring restoration.

Everything you’ve always wanted to know from “The Harbinger Man.” See WND’s complete collection of books and DVDs by biblical teacher Jonathan Cahn!

But I came also with something for Fidel Castro. I purposed that if God would open the door, I would give Castro a Bible, a letter, and a shofar, the Trumpet of Jubilee, the vessel used in biblical times to proclaim freedom throughout the land.

When we landed in Cuba we had to pass through an inspection with Cuban police going over everything in our luggage. The one thing that held us up was the Jubilee shofar. They didn’t know what it was and approached it as if it was a dangerous weapon. I decided to take the shofar, and show them how it worked. I sounded it. They looked stunned, but then let us go.

In the following weeks, I spoke in churches and gatherings throughout the island to give hope and encouragement to the believers of Cuba. In place after place, Cubans came up to me and those with me to tell us that they saw visions of us coming specifically as the magi.

It was then that I realized the full significance of the word given to us before we left. As the magi had come to an unlikely place to witness the newborn life of God, so had we now come to Cuba to witness God’s newborn presence there, a revival was about to break forth. Our gift to the believers of Cuba was to strengthen and encouragement them in the Lord.

At the same time, as in the account of the magi, there was opposition to that new life. There was a throne and an aging king on that throne who was fearful that the presence of Jesus in his land would be a threat to his regime. To the people of God, the magi’s visitation was a sign of hope and blessing. But to the king it was a sign of alarm, something to be closely watched, and ultimately a portent of the end of his reign.

THE JUBILEE

The month long celebration of the Gospel opened up at the island’s eastern end as I sounded the shofar in the first public evangelical gathering in the public squares of Cuba since the revolution. The communist officials watching all around me inquired why I was blowing the “Jewish horn.” Someone else was watching – Fidel Castro.

The events were being televised throughout the island. The word soon came back to us that Castro wanted to know “Who is this man with the beard causing such a ruckus? And “What is this Jewish man doing in the churches?”

It turned out we were retracing the footsteps of Castro’s revolution – but with a very different message and of a very different revolution. I was proclaiming the Gospel and the power of God for Jubilee, for freedom and restoration.

As I spoke of these things, my translator, a man named Felix, would hesitate at times to repeat them, knowing that in virtually every place, there were secret police and informers planted in the gathering, ready to report any word considered suspicious. And just as potentially dangerous, all over the island, on church buildings, houses, walls, and taxi cabs there were now posters plastered proclaiming the words ‘El Jubileo Vienne!” “the Jubilee is Coming” or “Freedom and Release is Coming,’ above a photograph of me sounding the shofar.

THE BOY NAMED ‘FAITH’

Fidel Castro as a boy

Fidel Castro as a boy

On the way to Havana, I picked up a book about Fidel Castro and religion. Most people don’t’ realize that his name, ‘Fidel,’ means ‘faith.’ But as a young boy, Fidel had begun to lose faith. He told the story of how each year, at Christmas time, he would write a letter – to the magi. And every year he would get a cardboard trumpet. When he realized the magi didn’t exist, he began to lose his faith. So it all started with a boy named ‘Faith,’ who first began to lose his faith over the magi. From this would ultimately come atheism, a revolution, prison camps, firing squads, and years of suffering for an entire nation – even the banning of the celebration of Christmas. And now here we were, coming to Havana, as magi and I happened to be led to bring Fidel Castro the gift of a trumpet – of Jubilee.

‘AND EVERY MAN SHALL RETURN’

The last stop before Havana was the province of Camiguey. It was my translator’s last night of ministry. He had to return to America the next day. I had no idea when I first asked him to join me that he had been born in Cuba, and that his family lost everything in the revolution, their possessions and their ancestral land. They fled to America where he grew up. There he came to the Lord. His dream and prayer was that one day he would return to Cuba and to his family’s land and his lost inheritance, and there build a church in which he would preach the Gospel. It was ironic that as I was preaching the Jubilee to Cuba, the restoration of every man to his ancestral land, the one translating that message had himself lost his ancestral land in the Cuban revolution.

Everything you’ve always wanted to know from “The Harbinger Man.” See WND’s complete collection of books and DVDs by biblical teacher Jonathan Cahn!

That night, they took us to the place they had chosen for us to minister in, a farm in the middle of nowhere, so much in the middle of nowhere that they had to transport the people to us by cattle car. Before ministering, I looked for my translator. He was wandering around the farm in a daze. I asked him what had happened. He had just discovered that the land to which we had been brought to minister – was his ancestral land. It was his family’s farm, the inheritance he had lost in the revolution, the place he had for years prayed he would one day return to.

So here on his last night, God had brought him home. It was what I had been preaching all along throughout the land, and what he had been all along translating – the Jubilee, the restoration – “And every man shall return to his property.” And so his journey ended with the fulfillment of that Scripture, and that prayer. And as for the church he had dreamed of building there, it had already been built, and was waiting for him to enter it. That night he preached inside the church of his ancestral land. He didn’t realize it until that moment but he had been a sign to Cuba, all along, with every footstep, of restoration.

THE CASTLE AND THE STAR

We arrived in the capital city of Havana. Every day there, I would gaze out my hotel room to see a centuries-old Spanish castle by the sea.

The Castle by the Sea, El Morro, Havana, Cuba

The Castle by the Sea, El Morro, Havana, Cuba

I was strongly led that we had to go to the castle and see what was inside. So we did. We walked through its ancient chambers. As we turned a corner, we suddenly beheld a massive painting that stunned us. The painting depicted the magi. It turned out that the castle we were in was one of the central national symbols of Cuba. And it was called “The Castle of the Three Kings.” And in the painting, standing next to the magi was a boy holding in his hand an object that looked like a shofar – the very thing I was now bringing to Havana.

The magi followed a star. That was the one thing missing from our journey. We joked, wondering if we would somehow see a star in Havana. We decided to go to Revolutionary Square, to pray on the site on which the evangelical gathering would take place the following day. We entered the Jose Marti Memorial, the towering monument that marks the square. The government official inside began to reveal that the tower had been built so that from the sky it would form a star.

The tower was built as a star – and as the star of the magi, it would mark the final destination of our journey – actually the final two destinations: the square in which God’s people would gather together the following day, and the Presidential Palace from which Fidel Castro ruled the island. And as in the nativity account, the star would be linked to the presence of Jesus on one hand – and an aging king and a dying kingdom on the other. And it was then that we realized that we had been gazing at the star every night as we looked out the window of our hotel room in Havana, ablaze with light in the darkness, marking our final destination.

The following day we stood in the midst of the multitudes gathered for the first evangelical celebration in Revolutionary Square. Fidel Castro also stood there witnessing the gathering that filled the plaza that had once been filled with Cubans welcoming his revolution to Havana. Now it was filled for a different purpose. It was there that arrangements began that would open the doors for the fulfillment of our mission.

THE PROPHETIC SIGN AND COUNTDOWN

I received an invitation to enter the Presidential Palace. I walked past the guards and was greeted by one of Castro’s assistants, who informed me that the “Comandante” was very much aware of me and was watching my journey through Cuba. I was brought inside and presented the gifts, the Bible, a note with a message I had written him, and the shofar, the Trumpet of Jubilee. Castro would later send word thanking me for the gifts. He also wanted to know how I could be Jewish and believe in Jesus. The Central Communist Committee also sent word inquiring into the shofar.

Giving the Trumpet of Jubilee to Fidel Castro was a biblical reminder of the power of God for freedom, and a prophetic sign that His power was greater than the bondages of man. The Cuban revolution had caused millions of Cubans to lose their land, their homes, their ancestral possessions, their inheritances, and their freedom – the very thing the Jubilee touches and undoes. It had all begun as the Batista government collapsed and Castro and his guerillas swept into the city of Havana at opening of 1959.

But the Jubilee Trumpet was linked to a mathematical formula to the ending of bondage The Jubilee contains a very specific countdown: “You shall count off seven sevens of years – seven times seven years – so that the seven sevens of years amounts to a period of forty nine years. Then you shall sound the trumpet….” (Leviticus 25)

What happens if one takes the biblical countdown of Jubilee and applies it to Castro’s reign, starting with the year 1959, the moment Cuba lost its freedom? Count “seven sevens of years, seven times seven years – so that the seven sevens of years amounts to a period of forty nine years.” And to what does that bring us? It brings us to the year 2008. Did anything significant happen in 2008? 2008 was the year that ended the rule of Fidel Castro. His entire reign, from 1959 to 2008, comprised the seven sevens of years, the 49 years of the countdown, ordained by God of the Jubilee – to the release of bondage.

castro-resigns

What if one gets even more specific – to days and dates? What if we begin the countdown from the specific day Castro came to power and count a Jubilee of years and a Jubilee of days, seven sevens of years and of days. Castro’s reign began specifically on New Year’s Day, January 1, 1959 in the wake of Batista’s fleeing the island. If one starts the countdown from that day, January 1, 1959, and counts a Jubilee of years and a Jubilee of days, seven times seven years and seven times seven days, the countdown culminates on February 19, 2008. Was there anything significant about that day? After nearly a half century, the rule of Fidel Castro came to its end on February 19, 2008, the exact day. On the day of release, Castro was released from power, and Cuba was released from his reign.

The poster that appeared throughout Cuba: Jonathan Cahn sounding the Jubilee Trumpet and the prophetic words "The Jubilee is Coming"

The poster that appeared throughout Cuba: Jonathan Cahn sounding the Jubilee Trumpet and the prophetic words “The Jubilee is Coming”

When I asked the Lord for what word I was to give to Cuba, when I proclaimed the Jubilee throughout the communist nation, when I gave to Castro the Trumpet of Jubilee, and when the posters were plastered throughout the island proclaiming “El Jubileo Viene!” “The Jubilee is Coming!” behind it all was a mystery and a precise prophetic countdown to the end. The Jubilee was indeed coming, and it would come for Castro’s rule at its biblically appointed time. His reign would be timed to the end of the 49th year and to the 49th day, and not a day longer – the mathematics of the release from bondage ordained three thousand years earlier. That day would bring the most enduring iron grip of power held by any man over any nation in modern history to a definitive end.

THE OTHER KING

I have sometimes wondered since then, when Fidel Castro looked at the Jubilee Trumpet I gave him, did he ever realized its significance. I pray that before he left this life he turned back to the One from the boy named “Faith” once turned away, and found forgiveness for his sins.

In the Biblical account, the aging king Herod dies, but the new born life of Bethlehem, the life of Messiah, goes on – to overcome kingdoms and change the world.

Cubans lining up to enter the Jose Marti, 'star' monument, Revolutionary Square

Cubans lining up to enter the Jose Marti, ‘star’ monument, Revolutionary Square

As I watched the thousands of Cubans paying their last respects to their aged leader, as they lined up to enter the Jose Marti Memorial, I wondered if they realized that they were heading to a star. Fidel Castro’s funeral took place at that same star monument which marked the destination of our journey and which, as the star of Bethlehem had marked for the magi, had marked for us both the ending of a dying kingdom, and the birth of God’s presence, the light of hope, a light shining in the darkness.

Castro has passed away, as did King Herod, and as do all the kings and rulers of this world, and as do all those who, as Castro once did, tried to stamp out the Gospel. But the revival that began under Castro’s rule has not been stamped out. For kings and kingdoms, rulers and tyrants, all pass away, but the name of Messiah remains.

Cuban believers worshiping their king – Jesus

Cuban believers worshiping their king – Jesus

Castro has died – but Jesus lives. And as the dictator’s ashes were laid to rest in the city of Santiago, the presence of Jesus was and is as alive throughout the island as much as it ever was. It is even at this moment transforming the lives of Cubans in a way that Castro’s revolution, with all its guns and powers of state, never could. The Jubilee that began on our visit to the island has not stopped, but continues.

The King lives … and the Revolution goes on.

This year Elul 29 falls also on Sunday October 2 closing the Jubilee year.

Will the DOW drop from here to Friday Sept 30 to close the day with 15,871.44 that is the required number to permit the Dow to drop 49% and 7,777 points on October 3, Monday the day of Rosh Hashanah. The jubilee year closed on Sunday October 2.

This drop would have the numerical authentication of God orchestrating the collapse just as He did on Elul 29  of 2001 and 2008.

July 10, 2016 Are Obama’s words on ISISL true, naive or pure evil?

Well my thought is that his words are evil to the core and come directly from his father and mentor Satan the father of lies.

Radical Islam is the problem and Islam is also the problem because it is not only a religion that worships Allah who is none other than Satan, the moon god that the tribes of Arabia worshiped before Islam, but when more than 30% of the population in a nation is devoted to this religion they will plan to control and destroy the rest of the population to impose Sharia law which is ingrained and inseparable to Islam.

Once this is done the most brutal of a dictatorship will be established and those who refuse to abide by it will be either enslaved or killed.

So yes we are at war with Islam and all its manifestations and Obama is the Antichrist described in the book of Revelation and will dominate the world for seven years when his rule will end with the coming of Jesus Christ who will send him and his false prophet to the lake of fire.

Thanks to Fay we have this extremely good video of a Jewish Rabbi that has nailed the truth right on. Yes Israel will be isolated and the “whole” world will be against it, but they will persevere as the true God creator of the universe is with them and will support and protect them supernaturally.

This Rabbi absolutely nails the truth – analysing Zero’s speech where he “explains” why he will NOT use the phrase Radical Islam. The video clip is short – just over 7 minutes. Things are heating up – nearly at boiling point. I am convinced that our starting point was the so-called arab spring in February 2011. Where the pale green horse (chlorus) was seen in Egypt during the riots. We then had the waters breaking in March 2011 with the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
Take all the signs together and add in young Nathan’s vision and it’s breath taking how close we are. This whole war in the Middle East is about the devil gunning for possession of Jerusalem. He is prepping the rest of the world for his future reign. Total control via technology and the destruction of Christianity. He will not regard any god – even the god of his forefathers (Islam). The muslims are just his handy thugs. The devil wants a gender less world where homosexuality rules. Islam doesn’t fit into that mold. Christianity will never ever accept that mold either. I pray that all the good people are getting out of Damascus. There is not much time left.

Remember Lot’s Wife

By Matt Leasher

Throughout the gospels the Lord Jesus Christ prophesied about His Second Coming several times and He said that those days would be like it was in the days of Noah and also as it was in the days of Lot.

In Luke chapter 17 it is recorded that the Pharisees had asked Him when the kingdom of God would come and He told them that the kingdom of God does not come with observation but that the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:20-21).

But then He turned to His disciples and gave them a much more extended description about what to look for when He is about to return. Picking up in verse 28, He said:

Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot, they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it” (Luke 17:28-33).

Many have mistakenly taken this passage to assume that the Lord was using this comparison as a description of the Rapture based on the next few verses, which say:

“I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left” (Luke 17:34-36).

While those verses sound very much like a description of the results of the Rapture, the next verse describes where those people went that were “taken” proving that this isn’t talking about the Rapture. The disciples ask Him, ‘Where Lord?’ And He answered: ‘Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together’” (Luke 17:37).

It is obvious that those that were “taken” were taken to be slaughtered when the Antichrist comes into the Holy Land after the mid-point of Daniel’s 70th Week (Matthew 24:15-20; Zechariah 14:2; Daniel 7:21; 11:41). This is a description of an arrest, not a Rapture.

Even though the context of this passage is not describing the Rapture of the Church, there is still a warning that Jesus proclaimed that can be applied to the Church today, and that is when He said, “Remember Lot’s wife” in verse 32. In fact, a single verse is assigned to just that warning!

In the context of that statement, Jesus was warning the Jews not to turn back for anything in their homes when the Antichrist forces invade Jerusalem as Lot’s wife had stopped to look back at her hometown that the Lord was about to destroy with fire and brimstone causing her to turn to a pillar of salt due to her disobedience.

Since Lot had obeyed the angel’s orders to not look back, it is quite likely that Lot’s wife was lagging far behind Lot without him knowing it due to her reluctance to leave her hometown. She may have even considered turning and going back at the moment that she was turned to salt.

The Hebrew word used in Genesis 19:26 for “look” is “nabat” (Strong’s # H5027) and can have an alternate meaning of “to show regard”. This may very well reveal Lot’s wife’s true mindset of her desire to “look” back. She had regarded her old life more than the next life that the Lord was leading them to.

For the Christians living in the current Church Age, this same warning can be heeded as to not be so attached to this world that we are not looking for the Blessed Hope of His soon appearing for His bride (Titus 2:12-13).

This especially applies to the Church since the New Testament tells us that this world is not our home (Hebrews 13:14), and that we are only sojourners passing through this world (1 Peter 2:11), and that our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20).

Part of becoming a born-again Christian is realizing that we are not of this world and that our lives are a temporary assignment mission as ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). The first epistle of John warns us that this world is passing away, but he who does the will of God abides forever (1 John 2:17). In the same passage we are warned not to love the world:

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world” (1 John 2:15-16).

It could very well be that Lot’s wife had loved her hometown of Sodom so much that she could not let it go and disregarded the angel’s warning to not look back (Genesis 19:17). The real sad part is that her hometown of Sodom was about the most evil territory on the planet at that time.

One would have to wonder what was so intriguing that she would want to stay or go back? It could have been that their sons-in-law had ignored the warning to leave and decided to stay (Genesis 19:14).

This in itself is an example of the family division that can commonly occur when the Word of God is not taken seriously among family members and also demonstrates how important it is that we witness to our loved ones about the saving grace of the gospel of Christ while there is still time.

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?” (Romans 10:14).

Many of us have taken the steps to witness to our loved ones but they still do not want to listen or believe and sometimes we are even mocked by our own family members. It is interesting to note that the angels took Lot and his family “by their hands” to escort them out of the city, except for their sons-in-law.

This is because they had mocked the warning that the angels had given, so the angels gave them what they wanted, and that was to stay!

In Luke 17:28-30, Jesus said that it will be like the days of Lot when the Son of Man is revealed. He is speaking about the conditions of the world. The city of Sodom was plagued with sodomy, hence where the word gets its name.

Homosexuality is running like wildfire throughout our present world today and has even been used to redefine marriage right here in our own country. I don’t think our world could be anymore as it was in the day of Lot than it is right now!

When Lot’s wife looked back unto Sodom her heart was still attached to the people and things that remained there, even though she had physically left the city and was on her way to safety and refuge from the coming wrath.

How many Christians today have this same heart problem? They have their ticket to heaven by trusting in Christ but yet they still cling to the many things of this world that are not of God, or they are complacent with the things that God opposes!

“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy with God” (James 4:4).

The wrath of God is approaching this world like a speeding freight train yet the majority of the world is so engaged in their lustful pleasures that not only do they not see it coming but they have no remorse in their sinful lifestyles whatsoever.

Homosexuality is being flaunted and celebrated on a global basis and sadly even many Christian organizations are in support of it. They are focused on their flesh and not their eternal souls. The Word of God admonishes us to walk in the Spirit to combat the lusts of the flesh:

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things you wish” (Galatians 5:16-17).

“But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts” (Romans 13:14).

.

Whether it be homosexuality or any form of fleshly lust, if we are truly following Christ we certainly are not going to condone any sin of the flesh, let alone gloat in it as so many people are now doing in LGBT community, hence the term “gay pride!”

We are all born with sinful desires of all sorts and they all need to be combated on a daily basis. That can only be done with prayer and obedience to the Word of God. To praise homosexuality the way that it is being praised is to be at enmity with God. God loves the sinner but hates the sin.

Sin is what separated humanity from God and Jesus Christ sacrificed His life on a Roman cross so that we could be reconciled back to God. When we profess to accept His payment for our sin, there is no room for compromise for any sin that may be in our lives and any sexual activity outside of a man and a woman in holy matrimony is sin. Period!

Our Lord’s warning in Luke 17:32 is an instruction for us to never look back or turn back from our profession of true faith that we have made and to follow Christ and abide by His truths and ordinances.

“No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62).

Lot’s wife may have also regretted having being made to leave her hometown. It has been surmised that Lot’s wife may have likely been a native of the city of Sodom since Lot did not have a wife when he left Abraham to go settle there (Genesis 13:8-12).

Her allegiance was to her hometown more than it was to the Lord or even her husband! This is also an example of the error and the cost of being unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14).

Many have wondered why Lot’s wife was turned to salt. There are physical reasons as well as symbolic reasons and the Bible provides both. Lot’s wife was likely lagging so far behind Lot and their daughters that some of the effects of the city’s destruction may very well have affected her.

Deuteronomy 29:23 graphically describes brimstone and salt as being an after-effect upon the land of Sodom and Gomorrah after He inflicted His wrath upon it. So it doesn’t seem as though Lot’s wife traveled very far after leaving the gates of the city.

As for the symbolic aspect of her turning to salt, Lot’s wife was left behind after Lot had made it to the city of Zoar where the angels told them to go for safety. The angels also clarified that they could not do anything until they got there (Genesis 19:22). In the New Testament Jesus declared that the church is the salt of the earth.

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men” (Matthew 5:13).

Salt is a flavor enhancer and a preservative. The Church’s role in this dispensation is to enhance the world around us with the Good News of Jesus Christ and help to get new believers preserved for that Day of redemption.

When this current Age of Grace ends there will be many people left behind that were “lukewarm” in their acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Savior that will finally realize that He is who He says He is and that the Bible is all truth. Some will perish while some will immediately convert and become believers.

Those Tribulation saints will then have to be the salt of the earth after the Church has reached its destination of safety via the Rapture! In that context, Lot’s wife may be representative of people that profess to be Christians but their hearts are still tethered to this world and they have not truly surrendered themselves to Christ.

The Lord was merciful to Lot’s family and Lot’s wife had rejected that grace when she regarded her hometown of Sodom above the Lord’s mercy and grace.

I’d like to point out that just after Jesus said to remember Lot’s wife in Luke 17:32, He then said, “Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it” (Luke 17:33). This is the same statement He used when He declared that a man has no profit if he was to even gain the whole world:

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:25-26)

This same exact admonishment is given in three out of the four gospels! The other two are found in Luke 9:24-25 and in Mark 8:35-37. It certainly seems as though the Lord wanted this warning to be emphasized for it to be repeated so many times.

There is one last thing I’d like to point out about Lot’s wife that is not only relative to the Church but also to the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Many people that hold to a Mid or Post-Tribulation view, declare that the Lord will protect and preserve the Church through the Tribulation period leaving them unharmed from His wrath.

However, Lot’s wife was not even allowed to “look” at it let alone be preserved through it, so why would the Church, who have been made righteous through Christ, be allowed to even see it?

The worldwide cataclysmic events that are going to take place during the Tribulation period are going to be impossible to not see as Christians are scattered all over the world.

Not only that, but how many Christians would be tempted to revel and cheer at the destruction of the many ungodly organizations and enemies of Christ? But the Lord told us not to revel at our enemies demise (Proverbs 24:17 and that we are to pray for our enemies (Matthew 5:44).

If you are a Christian reading this and you think that the Church is going to have to endure the inescapable horrors of the Tribulation period, I’d like to remind you to remember Lot’s wife!

The overall message here for Christians today is that we should never place anything above the Lord and the grace and mercy that He has given us through His Son Jesus Christ. There is nothing in this world worth looking back at when He has given us so much to look forward to and our faith in that should be our driving force to abstain from all worldly lusts.

“Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul” (Hebrews 10:38-39).
